Don't use that exhaust gasket, wont last five mins. You need the metal backed one. I cant find a pic at the min, ill see if I have one in the garage to snap.
This is vapour blast finish, they look sand blasted mate?
@DaveL485 Yeah I agree but they insisted they were vapour blasted as I queried the finish. I was shown the cabinet and a part that was being done, maybe just their technique. Cost me £225 for blasting and powder coat.
Link to said gasket?
So satisfying to get this lot assembled. All fasteners are stainless now. Took the time to give the injectors, ISCV, throttle and other little bits a coat of paint.
@Brigsy I should have done but there's no one local and I couldn't be bothered to post them.
Well happy with how the inlet has turned out. It's a ll about the details. I even stripped the throttle, cleaned the tiny needle bearings out and regreased them. Masked it up and gave it a quick coat of silver. Masked again and painted the linkage black.
Went to pick up the head from skimming today. I wasn't happy with it, the finish was fine but it looks as though he's done a pass across half of the head and then another across the other half with a slight overlap in the middle. You can feel the overlap with your finder and it runs the length of the head across all the combustion chambers. Never known a head to be skimmed like that. Disappointed as I wanted to get the valves lapped in today. Away on holiday for 4 days now.

Needless to say I refused to pay for the work. I was told it had been redone... I don't class rubbing the join with emery and 'polishing' the face so it's less noticeable. You can still make out the join just about but you can also still feel it.
