Megane Doms 225 Inferno PH1 Ringtool/Trackday Type Thing

Thanks mate. Hopefully get the diff done finally in the coming months and some other bits but sadly the valver stole my attention a bit and work schedule has nailed me a bit.
Understandable!

Looking forward to watching progress mind

Cracked on, removed the factory wheel mounted the omp boss and the wheel, interiors almost there now... few bits left to do but track day on the 26th so quick service, track it and check over in the mean time.

Got a rear end mat off eBay. With the assistant of an 8 year old (she can squeeze between the seats and bpillars) got the thing in and trimmed.

Adjusted the harnesses.

Track day on the 26th so best get last bits done as I’m working away pretty much every day from Monday until then

Where you doing the trackday at?

Also, kids do have their uses. Mine is useful for guiding the car to its rest point in the garage and the other smaller child can get his had into the undertray for when I drop the 10mm socket.

Blyton mate. One of franks charity days.

Kids do have some uses aswell as being financial drains 😂

First jobs first did an oil change and got her down to my mates work in town to set the geo. Opted for a parallel front as that’s my normal track set up.

Then onto blyton park...

Franks charity day was a genuinely good day yesterday. Got plenty of seat time in the orange. Had some fun chasing evo’s, kit cars allsorts.

Car felt spot on only highlighting known weakness but they’ll have to wait til I have some spare cash. We will see how Sunday goes at snetterton.

I’ve entered Javelin Sprint Series for the year as opposed to my original plan of NSCC. Feel free to come critique me at any rounds.

Post Blyton managed to get chance to fit a few new shiny bits,

Turn one steering wheel cover to try keep my oily mitts off the suede and some titanium steering wheel bolts because im a tart..

141769

Also removed the rear wiper using the Megacarbon kit, 3.3kg saved (pretty pointless as im a big lad).

How did you get on at Blyton? Enjoy it?

Loved it as much as you can at Blyton.. although next round of the series is there on the 21st.

It highlighted problems I know are existing however these will have to wait until I have some commission in from work =D

Franks days however are a refreshing change with a great "atmosphere". With Blyton being super tight power isn't too much of a concern so could have some fun chasing evos etc down. Proud of the little orange only bettered by a mclaren that day.

Next stop.... Snetterton Round 1 of the Javelin Sprint Series

Set up camp with the trusty master and trailer. Not had chance to sort the van out yet but thats a separate project altogether. Ready for my first round and already feeling massively outgunned on a track I'd never driven, what could go wrong lol

141774

Straight through scrutineering no problems, Sound limit was 105db at 5000rpm.. I was in the late 70s hahaha

Time for some action shots..

How did it go? Well, the car behaved faultlessly, me? not so much. Its a steep learning curve from track days, for a start you run from cold, first corner is erm.. interesting.

Some major positives of the day, didn't crash, my times fell drastically during the day enough to finish 9th in class.... out of ten hahaha With some more track experience and parts I believe I could of ended happily mid pack. Managed a 2:22 by the end of play however I think there was only a couple seconds more left in the car.

Next mods to the car are now majorly clear. Im the only car in class I believe still on an open diff so an LSD is a must. Car is almost due a clutch so an SMF/r26r/diff combo is on the cards. And the suspension was 100% highlighted as needing help. Currently browsing nitron and AST websites. Its going to be an expensive couple of months.

Round 2 is at Blyton on the 21st between now and then I'm going to perform a spanner check, remove the fogs and replace with ducting to the brakes and hope for the best and track knowledge to help.
