hi need some assistance guys renault 19 16v f7p eng.. dodgy idle changed plugs, leads, rotor arm, disy cap, coil still 2 no joy took off throttle body and iscv cleaned them still the same!!! any answers?? ordered a coolant temp sensor as someone said that might be answer... please help

cheers stevie(y)

also when taking it really easy on the accelerator i get a miss bout 2500rpm now and again, could be to do with the set up of the cams n pulleys i have been told does run a bit rich thinkin of bookin it in for next week but want 2 sort idle out first...

hmm.. i recently had a dodgy lambda.. the engine would nearly die idling after startup 2-3 times, then the ecu detected the error and ignored the lambda, resulting in the car running just as usual, no difference to be detected (except for emissions, etc of course).. it kept ignoring it until the ecu was disconnected from the battery and reconnected.. but i guess there's degrees of "dodgyness" to a lambda, so might not be like my case..

change the CTS then see how the lambda goes, if its runnig rich then the lambdas probably 'poisoned' and when it runs as it should it may clear the lambda out and sort the cycling.

still not got round 2 changin the cts or lambda gonna do them both at once got both new for 25 quid on the blag...nice!!! popped a core plug at the back of head so thats been main concern for last few days. let u no when i get them both on! on the other HAND lookin for a downpipe if anyone can help mines seen better days... thanks again guys

well theres no core plugs at the back of the head so you'll have a job. There are however 3 on the block and I have done them in situ. Even got pics in the project Y report.

Had a similar problem on a 1998 318iS BMW, turned out it was the air flow meter, BMW wanted £290 + VAT but just took the unit off sprayed a good old does of electrical contact cleaner, let it dry repated it twice more reassembled and it ran perfect until I sold it some 15000 miles later1

new to Renaults so dont know but food for thought!
Cheers

Seriously give it a go, its very very chaep and if it does not work you have spent all of £2.99 for the electrical contact cleaner?

the renault has a MAP sensor which i dont believe can be fixed using some contact cleaner (if it even has anything to do with this issue)...
