Hello you bunch of talented people, yesterday I posted this. My Meglio was obviously listening,



Last night, on my way to get a McFlurry via the usual Roundabout GP International layout, said Meglio decided this was an appropriate thing to do.



Whats the proper way of sorting it? I've got a decent stud and locknut kit on there but as you can see, the lock nut works great and the stud just ends up backing out...

I’ve never had mine do this.
I’ll have a look at mine. Think I used 197 manifold nuts from memory.

Does your downpipe have a support bracket on it?

I added titanium bolts with wire lock to stop it happening to mine, over kill maybe but couldn't be bothered to keep revisiting it as it was a real pain with the engine in a Twingo bay.

Its got the middle one, I dont have the lower one and the Scorpion pipe doesn't have the provisions for it anyway.

I used OE studs and 197 manifold nuts on mine, the 10mm hex makes them stacks easier to do up as well. Did several thousand miles and it didnt come loose.

Cheers all, turns out the downpipe support bracket had snapped... deep joy.

Spent 4 hours fixing it on Thursday night after work, massive pain in the ass with the engine in situ in a Clio. Got it sorted though and managed to get some good runs in on Saturday morning @ CSF

Seen you out on track didnt realise it was you mate. My scorpion decat support bracket also snapped, shite welding!

Nothing on you and the other two track Baguettes, I tried following them in for a laugh and completely ran out of grip miles before the any of the apexes lol

Miltek seems a far superior option - way more bracing points. Just can't be arsed taking the engine out again to sort it, hopefully my new bracket stays intact a bit longer than the last one.

They were on slicks… which is the excuse I’m using as to why I couldn’t gap them the entire day
