Hey

Some of you may have seen my post in the Tuning forum discussing the availability of up-rated engine mounts for the V6.

http://www.v6clio.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight=

The engine Mounts (3 in total) are for sure one of the weaker points of the drive train, the standard mounts feel extremely soft giving sluggish throttle response and increasing the chances of suddenly shocking the drive-train with a huge thump when you get onto the power suddenly.. Im sure lots of you have felt this!

The lower engine mount sometimes referred to as a pendulum mount, controls the swaying motion of the engine from the bottom of the motor to the rear subframe. When this is solid, it limits the movement, resulting in sharper throttle response, because there is effectively less 'slack' in the drivetrain, definitely worth doing!

Heres a comparison picture of the Standard and Custom Lower Mount

Anyways 'TRW1' has said that he will look into the possibility of a group buy for these parts, as they are custom made, having a multiple order for say 5+ should make it a lot more viable for the manufacturer to produce.

If your interested just let me know so that we can get an idea on numbers

Thanks

Jonny

Ahhhhhh so that's what's causing it

There has been talk of around £75 but this is very much an estimation at this point..

There will be more accurate pricing soon

Thanks

Jonny

Scott is sending off an original mount again so that we can get a price for production. I'll update when we have news.

definately in!!!! i hate the jerking of the standard one when on and off the throttle

let me know a price

With it being the lower mount i would say its going to be pretty simple to change.. Although im sure someone knows from experience!

I would say bottom cover off, support the engine, swap the mounts replace the cover and away you go.. Shouldn't be much more than 30mins IF its easy to get to

Thanks

Jonny

I presume it's the engine side of the mount that is different then is it? Mine has the Mk2 s/f but with Mk1 engine yet still used to run the Mk1 mount......

Very interested....

The amount of engine movement is getting on my nerves...

We do not have a MK2 mount to use for measurements so I cannot pursue that further unless someone can supply one.
MK1 mount has gone to be re-measured/priced.
Will let you know price when I have it. This may be slightly more than anticipated owing to VAT that wasn't applicable on mine.......
