Clio Clio 172 (will this one get a turbo?)

I cleaned the sensors a bit. Not roughly though. Just took the particles that had collected on them off whilst I was there.
I'm feeling like it is the wrong and rings. Although I can't recall if I checked the amount of teeth, I feel like I would have looked first

Everybody count with me

26 teeth. Rookie mistake. How I didn't notice this I'll never know. I 'tidied up' aswell so the old discs and rings are no longer with me.
I'll have to order the correct ones and smash them on. 44 teeth for the record
At least that'll be me sorted then

New set ordered.

Wrong size!

Sent back and another set ordered

Little bit too small.
Bit of sandpaper and a big hammer and they're on

Back on the car. No more abs service issues. Hooray.
It still hasn't cured my cruise control though like I would hope all these new rings would have so thats disappointing.

Goes smooth and well.
Cambelt and cruise control to sort then it's off to efi for the final map. 2 years late

Mot sorted and been using it to get me to work and back. Put about 150 miles on it in a few days. Runs great and feels quicker every time I drive it.
Grabbed a bargain of an exhaust local to me

Seller had a completely standard iceberg 172 on the drive. Looked just like mine with an L plate on. Said his daughter is using it to learn to drive which is cool.

So much beefier and lighter than the standard stuff.
It's a ktr one. Cat is already gutted so it's essentially straight through to back box.
Sounds a bit deeper at idle. Not driven it yet.

Also found a wiring issue on the rear plugs

I have cleaned them up both sides but I'm still getting a flash or fog light when I touch the brakes, and funnily enough right indicator and fog light comes on (on the dash only) when taking it out of reverse with the brake on. Funny

Also, now this is near completion, the next one is already in bits

Far cry from Renault simplicity. Pretty much everything out to remove some useless crap. And it needs a clutch. But supposed to be 340hp. I've not felt more than about 30 driving it home 😂

I've been chipping away at all these cars.
I thought I'd try to do an intake on the Clio seeing as it's still running my mesh cover. Which I actually don't have a problem with, but I actually don't want to run a catch can. And currently the cam cover vent is venting to the floor. Again usually I wouldn't have an issue with this. But I'm getting older now and don't want my cars to smell tbh.
So I wanted to run the breather into the intake again.
I bought this cheap. Plastic clamped playdough soft ally pipework, thinking I'll be able to make something work.

It's so tight down there. I can't see this 3" stuff working without putting the battery in the boot, and I don't really want to do that either.
So nothing to report other than I failed at putting a filter on.

Used a weather strip from the mini for the front under bonnet trim aswell. Cut to size. Fits better than the Clio one as that was ripped up aswell.

I have also tried to get my cruise control working without really knowing what the issue is.
I've tried clutch and brake switches, no change. I have an earthing issue on both rear lights. They've both burnt out and interfere with brake reverse fog light and indicator. Mainly when I have my foot on the brake and move from reverse. I don't really know how to rectify that without putting new plugs on the back.
I have cleaned the them up already.
I can switch cruise on and it illuminates but I can't activate it with buttons.
So I've looked behind the air bag hoping the plug was just unplugged but it was all good behind there. So I can only think it's the squib ring.

Also had a fuel smell. Turned out the o ring on the fuel pump hanger had grown quite a bit and become useless.
Bought a new aftermarket one and got an actual tool to do it properly. Fitted and no more smell.

Cheers
