Clio Clio 172 (will this one get a turbo?)

I'm clearly missing something small here but I can't figure it out. I've checked the inlet for leaks. All clamps are tight. Hole in the intercooler?
Idle settled to about 950

The map from Efi is just a base map. It needs fully tuning ideally. Id not be going too mad without an afr gauge hooked up and something to check for det.

He said it would be fine to run the 8psi with this setup. Tuning surely would be fine tuning it. This is undrivable. Not what I was expecting

I've just back tested the boost circuit. Holding my hand over the intake there doesn't seem to be any leaks and only pressure at the turbo inlet.
Rules that out.
I've just disconnected the battery to see if it needs a reset of sorts

Wet top. Would be putting money on that this setup is my issue.
I don't know why there would be fuel leaking before the return but it has been.
My pump setup was a bodge in the first place so I'll need to re address this.

I did manage to hook up the rear o2 sensor aswell so that should help things.
Bumper back on and ready for this fuel fix then try again...

A bit better but still not perfect.
Have put it all in and ran the car. No leaks under pressure.seems to idle and rev a bit smoother. But again still not perfect. I have p0141 for the rear probe still on. It needs a drive I think.
Revving it I still can't get it into positive boost. It sits at about 21inhg is that sounding normal?

I drove it...
I like it. I got 7psi briefly on a very quick drive in second. It's going to be quick.
Problem then was fuel supply/return problems

On heat shielding. Has anyone used those turbo blankets? I'm thinking of that and wrapping the downpipe.
Cheers

I'm at a loss with this car now.
It's very hard to start. When it does it runs like this and if I touch the throttle it dies.
I thought I heard a hissing on an injector. So I took them out and replaced a dodgy looking o ring

Still no better
Put a bit of fuel in it as it was low. Still no better.
I have wiggled all the connections. Checked all the coil plugs are on good.
If you put your head in the bay the fumes/fuel actually burns your eyes. Clothes stink if I go in there with it.
I don't know.

When I tested it the other day it ran fine. Boosted fine then drove in the garage fine. Now I've insured it for a proper test it does this.
Any ideas from you guys?

Boost leak wont affect starting or low speed running as its map sensor speed density setup not maf. Would just be poor performance.

Get clip on and see if any df codes are stored

I feel like an idiot!
Thought I'd check the fuel pump again wondering if I broke something maybe running it low on fuel.

The fuel feed had come off! So it was basically running on fumes. Actually impressive.
What concernes me is that the marine grade fuel hose I've used on the pipework has gone soft after just a few weeks sitting in fuel. And the clamp wasn't clamping anymore.
So I've put it back together with a jubilee clip for the night so I can test the car.
I'll need a 3rd solution to an actual fuel feed. And probably over time the return aswell.

So put back together and run lovely straight away. Happy about that.

The test drive...
Damn. The boost is good! I haven't had a turbo petrol for a long time. I missed it. This was definitely the right decision.
I had clicked the manual boost controller 3 clicks to see what that would give. I took my foot off the throttle at about 13psi!
Turned it all the way back down. Still wimped out at about 13. So I might need to figure something out there.

at least you found the fault pretty quickly. ive had issues with hose too recently. took a few goes to find a fuel hose that didn't go to jelly and ended up buying some e10 compatible stuff that's working fine so far. Just got some that was supposed to be specific for brake fluid, its turned the fluid black so its obviously breaking down.

Cheers @Brigsy I'll get on the case.
Im going to try to dial in the boost tomorrow by way of moving the actuator arm out. On Max low the boost controller is still giving far too much boost.
I'm excited that it's nearly finished

As there's limited space and I want to test the car I cut up a seive. It's nice flexible stainless mesh and I've given it a poke. It's not going anywhere.

I have also taken the boost controller out as it wasn't helping me. That's tidied up the bay and pipework a bit.
And wound out the actuator arm and got it peaking about 12 psi. Gave it another couple of turns out and it's sitting at a nice 8/9 I think.
It feels good. Feels quick and sounds awesome! I think due to the exhaust leak at the downpipe/cat link. I have realised why this is a struggle down there. The engine dynamics kit has a central short turbo to v band adapter. I have something slightly different putting my end in the wrong place.
I have also ordered some more fuel hose. For a third try at the pump.
Cheers
