CEWE Photobook

Big ‘thank you’ to Duncan who signposted me to some additional professional images taken of my car in 2005. The images purchase has allowed me to put together a photo storybook celebrating it’s former and recent history. I’m awaiting the second draft in the post...

I think its a brilliant idea Kett and something to keep safe with the car. A great talking point about the car and great way to document its history.

Something you could leave open on the engine covers at car shows if you don't mind cleaning the finger prints off your windows after!

Second draft has been sent to Duncan for editorial advice. Third/final draft will then be printed. Quite time consuming, but should be well worth it.

Superb Kett!

Great idea indeed...

Now you got to make it to Silverstone, with the final version of the photo book :)

I do plan to visit on the Friday... unfortunately without a Vee. I had hoped that my Ph1 Clubsport project would make an appearance, but readiness is inconceivable.

All of the images that I’ve sourced for the book have been provided by kind and capable persons. Ironically, the Silverstone Classic photo inclusion was from the year that the club attendance took a hiatus. What are the chances?

Understood, but don't you fancy bringing the AY, and you may add another couple of photographs, especially on track during the parade lap (on Saturday though), and if you deck it up as a pace/safety car then that would be a proper homage to its roots... :approve:

That's a nice idea Kett. What software are you using and which printer? I want to do something similar with the old Zimbabwe 1600E....but with 1000 plus phots it may need a couple of volumes!

It’s in the thread title...

...it’s a platform for creating your own photobook. They then will print it for you with pricing according to size, number of pages, paper quality and outer cover type.

There are other platforms around. This one seemed to be ‘up there’ with the better ones.
Only downside is that I was unable to switch the project between iOS on my phone and Windows on my PC.

Tempting! It’s something that I’ve always promised I’d do and I can’t think of a finer opportunity. However, my new working regime means that I get paid well to work x2 days/week but with hardly any flexibility. One of those required days falls on the Classic’s Saturday...

Incidentally, I did turn up at OrigineRS 2015 trying to recreate the ID optioned car from Geneva 2003 (see library picture) but I think only a few people noticed...

Thanks Kett. I wondered what CEWE meant!
The car has finally been registered after 6 months deliberations with the DVLA. When the OCI group within the DVLA got involved, and started to ask for photos of the VIN stamps before and after restoration, along with the vin plate and body plate before and after, I started to get intrigued. It was only after I looked up what the OCI group was (Office of Criminal Investigation) I was starting to come to terms with having a very expensive spares car! I don't think that they deal with scrap cars coming IN from Zimbabwe too often! Much relieved when the V5C turned up last week.

Very happy with the result... I just need to wait for a CEWE special offer before I order more for distribution.

Thank you for the final copy Kett, it looks great! straight into my Clio V6 memorabilia shelf. Lovely to have the cat documented so well.
