V6 GJE spotted

I’m currently at my folks until nyd just outside oswestry but I live not far from Radstock / Bath. It would be nice just to sit in a V6 tbh. Wouldn’t expect anyone to let me drive their pride & joy.

The GTR was quick, perhaps not by modern performance car standards. They get a lot of attention and have a certain amount of motorsport pedigree which you can feel come across in the way they drive.
The biggest issue with them is corrosion/rot followed by flaky electronics and the cost of putting that right. IMO they benefit from a torque bias adjuster so you can control the 4wd yourself as a bit of reassurance.
Parts availability is good but you are rinsed by jdm / gtr tax on almost everything you buy. They are a bit fiddly to work on as everything is packed into the engine bay. When servicing them for example the oil filter is located in the most gormless of places.
I like them a lot despite their foibles, they look and sound nice, the performance is more than adequate even when they are left standard. I don’t think mine was really improved by being modified. People chase big power figures with them but I dont really think they need it to be enjoyed.

I'm in Coventry, near the airport, if you're ever passing drop by and ill take you (and your lad) for a spin no problem. Car is insured and taxed all year round.

Be warned, its intoxicating and will just make you want one more. I took mine to the Spa Classic in Belgium this year and it turned quite a few heads :)

Thanks Dave that’s a lovely offer.
I’m back into the throes of work etc now so I’ve had less time to look at cars. Kind of glad I haven’t committed to travelling to look at anything with the recent bad weather tbh. Hopefully come spring I’ll get a break from work and can start looking properly.
