Car Fest 2013

Just checked the forecast for tomorrow and it's looking better :approve: , a few light showers in the morning but brightening up and sunny as the day goes on and staying nice right through to the evening [smilie=yay.gif], lets hope it correct :)

Few snaps from setting up yesterday (can someone set up a gallery on here pls?)

Then we washed them next to the car from Tokyo Drift

More to come later....

Congrats to Paul O for taking the last place for Car Fest South on the Saturday. I assume Paul has seen the pictures for the North event and realised this is a not to be missed event! ;)

Paul, good going. Would be great to see you.....

By the way, I trust the tickets (and info pack) have not been sent out as yet?

For the North, we received the car passes as glossy A5 printed hard copies. For the South the event organisers have sent them out as PDF email attachments. When I get home from work tonight, I will be putting up a link.

To wet your whistle, here is the plan of the venue:

Large Plan

Club Cars Paddock

Looks like we have a good spot again near the pits and back-to-back with the DMCs :approve:

Thanks Danny.

Will have a proper when I get hom and on my laptop. Are we to expect something via post as well (eg. Car pass)?

I'll post up details tonight but it will be self print passes from a PDF.

Ok - So here's all the info you need for Car fest South.

No-one from v6Clio.net will be attending on the Friday.

For those of you that are attending on either the Saturday or the Sunday:

The links to the maps of the venue are a couple of posts above.

This is the IMPORTANT document you will all need: Temporary Vehicle Pass. Please print this out and bring it with you! It's the only thing you'll need to get into the event.

Here is a copy of the email from the organisers. I have highlighted the important bits in RED:

We’re looking forward to seeing you next week at CarFest South, Laverstoke Park, Hampshire.

Please find attached our layout for the Paddock Field at CarFest South which includes that Car Club area layout (link above). Please note the location of your Car Club area and be ready to be marshaled into you space on Thursday / Friday next week.

I also attach the campsite rules. We will have a permanent campsite manager to check these rules are adhered to. Any breaches of these rules can result in those parties being asked to leave the campsite.
Please also note that the campsite will be closed to arrivals from 2359hrs on Thursday evening – no exceptions! The campsite will re-open on Friday at 7am.

You will also find attached your vehicle pass PDF (link above) for entry to car park and paddock. Please print/forward however many you require. No passes will be posted.

Before arrival there is some key info we need you be aware of:
• If you are wishing to camp onsite, by now you should have completed and returned the form at the back of the Car Clubs manual.
All vehicles, other than the 7 display cars per club should be parked in our Day Staff Car Park – located just South of the Car Paddock area – entry via Gate A.
[CoolAsLife: This means any attendees (partners, relatives, friends etc), coming in a separate vehicle need to go to gate A with a thier printed copy of the vehicle pass]
Display vehicles should enter site via Gate B. Please find attached your TEMPORARY VEHICLE PASS which will gain you access onto the site.
Please avoid driving through the village of Overton when you approach the event site and approach via the A303 (this should be sign posted from both directions).
• There will be minimal support vehicle parking onsite at CarFest South so please avoid bringing trailers and support vehicles to site.
• It will not be possible to park support vehicles adjacent to the cars. The small support vehicle parking area is a short distance from the Paddock.
• After the event, large support vehicles will not be granted access to site on Sunday 25th Aug. Please arrange for collections on Monday 26th Aug.

Here is the final link to the Car Fest South Manual

The following PDF is possibly only for the benefit of Shaun as he's the only one that may be camping - Camping Rules

You MUST arrive at the venue between 07:00 and 09:00 AM!!!!!!! If you arrive after 09:00 your car with not be on display and you'll be directed to the day Staff Car park.

If it's anything like the North event, I would highly recommend getting there as early as possible. The main reason for this is that you will be able to get uncrowded access to Pits. I'm sure all the Northern attendees will back me up on this as it was well worth while.

Once you arrive, simply park up at the V6 stand and someone (who exactly to be confirmed but it will be a v6Clio club member) will be there to give you you wristband for the day (2 per vehicle).

It is also important to note that you will NOT be able to move your display car until 19:30 (7:30PM). But again, based on the North event, I highly recommend chilling out, enjoy the musical entertainment, grab an ostrich burger or stone baked pizza!

None of the links download for me. I just get live.com with the busy sign :s

Strange - I have tried on a few different laptops, PCs and tables without logged into my skydrive and the links work for me. The PDF maps of the venue took a while to open but that's cos there are over a meg in size.

Anyone else having problems?

Cool, seems like a fun day out.....and hope the weather plays ball! Keane are supposed to be headlining Saturday - My wife is keen on seeing them perform. ;) What time did the headline act take to the stage in the Northern event?

The downloads worked for me, but I needed to hit "Download" on the SkyDrive browser window and save it on my laptop. The PDF did not open automatically.
