That would be interesting to see. O34 Motorsport in the States did it with a Mk4 Golf with amazing results. Infact Max who works there has been very helpfull regarding my gearbox choice.

Here's a video of their S4 powered golf. Pretty amazing

Sort of. Have had a bit of work to do recently on the house so nothing has physicaly changed on the car. Apart from the engine mounts taking shape and the fitment of some ph2 wheels.

Discussed the small issue of wiring over a pint with my mate last week. The plan is to strip it all back to basics and remove (not dispose of) all the oem wiring loom. Get rid of the elecy windows, elecy mirrors, stereo, oem dash clocks etc. Literally just leave, heater, A/C, lights, indicators and wipers and Emerald ECU. There will be a small matter of wiring in the side intake fans onto a manual switch and an electrical water pump for the secondary rad and charge cooler but the idea is to build it as simple, tidy and accesable as possible. I'm just hoping it won't be too hard to install the ecu and fuse boxes in the glove compartment.

No. I've only got the passenger airbag fitted anyway. If it wasn't for the Sabelt wrap round bucket seats and matching 4 point harnesses I would definatly run them though. I'm still trying to get the best price on a full roll cage as I don't think its too wise pumping 400+hp through the original flimsy shell. The ABS will be staying however.

Thanks Jon. Once the engine is sitting firmly in the car and the bay resprayed I'll start to put pictures up.

you dont have your passenger rear outer 1/4 panel off do you need a favor

The bodywork is largely untouched BUT I have been considering taking them off to me mildly modified. What do you need it for?

Do you know anyone off the uk audi forums who want a good pair of K03's with all the S4 pipework Jon??.........I've decided to go with the large (huuUUGeee) twin scroll Holset. Atleast I know I'm not going to max it out unlike the small pair of VAG parts.

I know that KO4s are always in demand by the S4 boys. Problem is that, as an S4 owner, if your turbo/s have gone then it doesn't really make sense to repair or replace the KO3s when for not much more you can slot some KO4s in. Having said that, bung an ad up matey. Never know.

So you're converting a twin turbo into a single or are you strapping on two holsetts? From reading on the Audi forums, a set of KO4s on an S4 engine are good for 450-500 with the right pipework and map. Problem is, at that power, heat and airflow will be a massive problem. I know that when I took 5th gear to its absolute max the other day I could physically feel the heat being generated through the footwell on my legs! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Yeah I agree that most would simply upgrade to 04's. Hopefull someone will be after a like for like swap.

Will be converting to a single for exactly the reasons you say. Its bloody huge. Good for 650+hp on its own and will hold 30psi allday long. Its going to cost me nothing to fit where as fittting 04's or GT28's will cost a couple of grand.

Ah interesting. Not heard of a single turbo conversion before. Very common in the Jap scene (Supra, Skyline and RX7 immediately spring to mind) but I guess with massive power available from upgraded twin turbos people don't really have the impetus to try new things. Is it gonna be much of a ballache to convert to single turbo?

Check out the 034 Motorsport shop online Jon. All their TimeAttack cars are using singles. They have just recently released an off the shelf conversion too. They are using 2.8 n/a primary manifolds which flow much better than the stock R/S4's. They then use a link pipe to merge them into the single turbo. Single turbos create more lag but are more effecient at the top end and give higher hp. They also create less heat in the engine bay as its more localised. Throttle response might be better too as I won't need loads of pipework to merge the the two turbos into one as audi did.

Work wise it is dead easy. May even save me a lot of work.

The things I learn!! All sounds good matey. 034 Motorsport are a well respected outfit as well from what I've garnered. Looking forward to seeing the goliath of an engine in action :approve:
