Nice one mate, look forward to seeing them :approve:

Well its just a taster as I have yet to fit the front ones properly but it gives an idea of what the finished article will look like.

Just after some hubcentric spacers for the front and its done. Reckon I have found some with the right size center but will need redrilling for the 5x108 stud patttern. Will be glad when its done.

Thank god!! [smilie=yay.gif] How long have I been saying that to you!!! ha ha

Joking aside, It's looking good Brett - Glad it's finally coming together for you :)

A full decatilization starts tomorrow morning. Will also be looking at the addition of the Aston DB9 valves I've had kicking around. Have been looking into it an it seems its possible to work them from the engine vacuum which will give me lots of ways to open them when I want.

Well I've bit the bullet and N* 1158 is officially having a full engine and gearbox transplant. Originaly the plan was to keep things a simple a possible. A nice big turbo (Holset HX40) sitting where the QS supersport usually sits. That will be the only way of silencing! The compressor housing will be pointing up towards a charge cooler in the boot which inturn will connect to the rear of an early alloy L7X inlet manifold modified with the throttle body at the rear. The motor itself will be from a Pug 406 or similar and fettled to work correctly with some moderate turbo boost. There's 4 reasons why I'm using the earlier V6 instead of the 230/255 type. 1, they are cheap. 2, they don't have VVC so are simpler to map etc and 3, they come with a lower c/r as standard. 4 is purely the fact they use an alloy inlet manifold I can easily modify.
The engine is by no means going to be a 450+bhp monster . . . . Yet!! Because of this, the original pistons are going to be machined to drop the compression even more and the heads gently massaged to breath slightly better. This way I know the engine can safely take 7-10lb of boost, 15-20 tops. If it makes 300-350hp ill be well happy. If it makes more ill be over the moon as it would have cost piss all!!!
Part 2 of the build is the gearbox. This is where keeping it simple goes out the chuffing window!! Not because its hard to fit the thing but ecu controling it requires control of the engine. Great! More info on that when I delve into it though.

Purely because I've been offered one along with a trophy flywheel. I'd be wrong in saying its the best/strongest/most reliable option but its by far the coolest! Lol

Definintely the coolest!! I've watched the supercharged clio (MikeT's??) Youtube clip about a million times for the gearbox sound alone 8)

Tbh though, even once its all done, I shall still probably look into a bell housing adaptor for another full syncro box. Ideally I'd like to look at the mk1 focus st170 box. Its a 6 speed and quaife offer a full straight cut gearset up grade kit which would definalty be more user friendly.
