Can ( or can't) clip?

After looking at a few cars including Clio Rs' I took a punt on a one owner Meg GT line 1.6 Diesel estate, for the sporting yet economical older driver......got it at sensible money 55k, it'll do me.
Good wash and a day with the clay bar, and a polish she's a beaut!
Getting ready for brakes all round though and here's the problem..........EPB, later cars seem to ditch it, but it's on this 62 plate, I want to do it myself, tech moves on so you've got to go with the times...

So question is, clip clones any good? Which ones? What else do you need, i.e laptop running what.....as I'm on windows thingy ....whatevers newest atm, but have an old netbook upstairs i could use.
Is it practical ? Or would i be better off with a handheld generic code whathisface just to do simple stuff?
All input greatly received, I'd post pictures of my new weapon......but it's a diesel estate....so i won't......

Clip needs win xp/7 to run the software. Its the bollox for diagnostics and reprogramming oem settings on the Renaults. Far better than any aftermarket obd scanner.

Right so, is there anything to look out for on clones ? Are all same old Hong Kong gone wrong lucky dip?
Uk sellers all seem about £136 , lots seem to claim to be better than others....?

Ive read the claims however im not sold on the differences apart from price. Chances are they are all identical apart from price tag. Im buying the cheaper one see how that goes however itll prob be on the slow boat so depwnds how fast you need it.

I thought it mattered on the internals? I was lead to believe the ones with the gold internal strips are the better ones to get...

I read up about the difference on Clio sport.net but for the life of me I can’t remember what thread, was very interesting and in-depth...

There's a listing ( probs one pictured above ) that has really good feedback and claims to have sold loads, all the neg feedback looks like it's from drongos, I'd rather punt 160, on something that looks like it works than risk a ton on a 'wing wong sunshine many happy listing'............MMmmmmm cheap price though.....
Just I'm getting to a mental block with tech, ages ago I read up on ECU's and got my head round EFI so i could at least fault it....dodgy sensors etc... these days i can't be arsed, Iphone apps are pushed down my throat at work and I'd rather weld something together......but if i can learn a bit, it's worth a crack........wait till pay day, and see how far i pry my wallet open.

Right, sold a bit of stuff, so thought I'd jump in, this one looked the proper job.....

It's arrived, but thought they may be an A4 photocopy giving me a clue...........Nah just the unit, leads and couple of discs.
Oh and a message to to download winrar or something, with a link.
The Netbook ( may need to upgrade the win7 on it) I am hoping to use hasn't got a DVD drive so I'll need to get an external one to load the software on, but an idea where to start......
I have a friend who's more into this larky........but I'm getting that mardy, uptight feeling I get when dealing with this stuff.......the interest drains away, so this may end up an expensive mistake.......

Mine seems a bit temperamental to using in anger and share Turbell's joys lol. Does work for code reading but bombs out and fear of recoding and more indepth of it doing more harm......must dig for gold inside

An ISO file is a file that sits on a HDD or USB drive and pretends to be a DVD disc.
