Would of been nice to see your Diamond collection. Time would be tight anyway. A Saturday morning when your in the garage Sounds favourite . It’s not a bad run from me .I did the passport office a couple of times last year .
Just over 5000 miles covered in the Megane now since I got it and I’m still in love with it!! I just love the way it schleps along to the airports quietly and confidently during the week as my workhorse, but then if I’m feeling a little fed up with the motorways I can flick the sport button and turns itself into a little rollerskate to be threaded round the nearest backroad.
The car still looks amazing following the great detail by our very own @detailR but the wheels we’re letting it down as they had pretty much all been kerbed by the previous owner. So whilst I was on holiday recently I was browsing eBay for alternatives and stumbled on a chap selling some Bola’s for a reasonable price that were in the right offset and bolt spacing.
Following this trial fit, I realised that the Bronze wasn’t going to work, so I dispatched the wheels off to City Wheel refurbishment in Birmingham for the complete strip and re-powder coat at £130 (fookin amazing prices there!):
When I got the wheels back, I decided to treat them to a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4s’s to ensure the go was as good as the show, and got the car tracked at the same time:
As you can see the tracking was a bit off when they checked it:
But it was soon fixed:
And the car looked great!
However that photo was taken with the old wheels and tyres in the boot, which was weighing the car down, and making the wheels fill the arches.
Without the weight. The car looked like this:
Good job I’d bought some Eibach springs....
I had a few hours free the other night, so decided to have a go at fitting the rear springs... OMG it was the easiest job I’ve ever done on a car...! Literally 2 bolts to undo, to remove the bottom of the shocks!
You can see the difference in the shocks here:
During
After
I had a look at fitting the front springs, but realise it’s a more intensive job, so have decided to defer it to another weekend in the future, mind you I think the car looks FOOKIN amazing as-is:
I’ll update when I fit the front springs.
But in the mean time, I can say the Eibach springs and the 19” wheels HAVE NOT reduced the comfort of the ride!
