5 GT Turbo Campus turbo

Hi I'm Mat and I've just bought the Campus turbo off of Adrian. I'm starting to do a few finishing touches, I've read through a few threads on various forums but I was after some info/advice. @Brigsy @Markey Mark BD i believe you guys are running quite high bhp, reliable engines I was wondering if you had any tips. Also as the suspension is all standard campus I can always convert it to ph2 gt turbo but I recall reading about people using 172 hubs and brakes etc. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? I've had GTTs in the past but was just keen to know what the modern thinking on them is.
Cheers Mat

The c1j is very reliable and can cope with some good power when set correctly and you don't need much done to them either. What spec has the campus got? I can't remember what Adey fitted into it now

I use to have a 12sec campus few years ago, that was a good laugh

Some people have used 172 hubs before but they aren't a straight fit plus they have only used them because they run very powerful 16v engines, with a C1J standard hubs will be fine
I would swap to gt suspension too, help firm it up abit and handle little better

Thanks for the replies guys. I think the spec is 270 cam, T28, Group A carb, Alloy inter cooler and that's about it. T28 is off the car and ready to be rebuilt. Group A carb I think I will try and swap for a standard carb and then adjust the jets. AFR kit will be ordered on pay day, EFI parts kit ok?

Ph2 GTT suspension it is then.

I'd like a reliable 180-200bhp. Although a 12 second campus would be a riot. Maybe next year.

Hopefully I can get to a few shows etc and say hi in person. My mate has a 16v Campus and my other mate is finishing off a Williams Prima so I'm looking forward to the summer.

Welcome mate, many more experienced can advise on your queries but I'll have a full set of ph2 suspension available in about 3 weeks if you're interested. All in good nick including -35 apex lowering springs up front.
This would be both a good idea and convenient, before you die a horrible fiery death on Campus suspension :)

Welcome to the forums, good to keep the car in the fold :)

I've gone with Gaz ones, not the gold as they were out of my budget and a bit OTT for my use.

I'm not sure on price for my current suspension, I'll look up current prices on eBay and then just knock a decent amount off, TR discount lol. Before that though I'll get you some decent pictures so you can decide if you're definitely interested in them or not.

@Big Steve - Raider Just spotted you, a fellow Peterborian haha You bought a few Raider bits from my mate Craig years back. Your car was amazing, assume it still is. Did you have the Clio or 5 1.8t 20v as well?

Sure am @matstearn. Yes I remember buying the parts off Craig, that would have been about 10 years ago now as I restored my Raider in 2006.... :be: Yes my old Raider is still looking well and hidden away in a secret bunker in Peterborough :D
Yes it was also me with the 1.8 20v Clio, good memory mate!!

Be nice to see the old Camparse Turbo running round the parkways sometime soon?? :D

Yes @Pigsnake i did, I had a couple. I think we spoke on rtoc but I wasn't on there much. Looks like we have at least 5 ppl for a local meet up, I'm sure you know some more. I work in a garage on Oundle road so we could all have a little meet on a Saturday sometime?
:bv: I live in Sugar way now....:ce:

P.s. If you know anyone who you would put your life on to paint a car nearby let me know...?
