Hi,

If it's not too late I would be interested in this? Would be looking for OE parts and I will have the cash ready and waiting. Will need the courtsey car as well due to location. Looking to have mine done about late May / early June time if possible?

John, you are welcome to join the group buy, you are just in time as we are all about to put our deposits down. You would be the 7th person by the looks of it. Shame we cant just get 3 more for the super low price!

Just a thought guys.....

Not sure how Ben has worked out the discounts but assuming his labour charge is the same for however many people go for the group buy we could do the following:

If there are 7 of us going for the group buy then between the 7 of us we could split the cost of the remaining 3 deposits required to get the extra discount. This actually works out cheaper than going for the 5 person group buy. Then we could pass this onto other people at a later date?!

Price for 5-9 people = £685.36
Price for 10+ people = £572.05

Difference = £113.31

Deposit required for £10+ people = 42% = £240.26

3 x £240.26 = £720.78

£720.78 / 7 = £102.97 each

Therefore total paid for service = £675.02 + we would own a share in some parts

I hope that makes some sense?!

This obviously doesn't work if Ben has offered additional discount on his labour for the 10+ people. However, the idea is that the remaining 3 people would get their vee serviced with Ben and buy the parts from us at the discounted price.

Makes senses to me anything that will be cheaper really. Only problems I can see would be as you say is the discount for the labour or finding the remaing people to have the work carried out by Ben.

Either way is fine for me!

Some cunning thinking goign on here. :approve:

You could ebay the parts if no one wats them! LOL.

I'm sure Ben can work out something!

Maybe he will offer something in between the 2 figures.... Or just 3 more! C'mon everyone!!!!!

Peter :D

I understand what your saying and it's a clever idea but I think it might get too complicated... :s

As Ben said on an earlier message he is quite prepared to hold on to the parts for a while until they are needed.

Oh, and as I mentioned to Peter.

In terms of booking in for the actual job, this is open to an as & when needed time frame. I realise that not all of you will want the work in remotely the same timescale, so if some need it in 2 weeks time and some in 1 years time, then no problem.

HOWEVER, this can only be because parts are bought now, at once, with the deposit and stored until use. If they are to be purchased at a later date, no doubt they will be more expensive at full retail, but suppliers will not extend generous discounts for 1 service kit bought every month.

The service kits will be boxed up and labelled with the customer name, ensuring they are not used and replaced at a later date.

If 3 more people have their cambelts needing to be changed in the next year it might be worth people putting the deposit down now for them and the parts sitting in Ben's workshop until ready for fitting...? They would benefit the discount of the group buy which might not be available at a later date.... and have time to save some funds for the rest of the job...!

Lucy,

Unless we buy 10 sets of parts all in one go then we would not receive the full offered discount. Currently we have 7 people wanting to go ahead with the group buy which means we all pay £685.36. However, if the 7 of us clubbed together for an additional bit of deposit then the total price would be £675.02. This in total works out cheaper even though we have paid for an extra 3 kits between us all. The only downside being that you had to pay £102.97 more deposit to begin with.

If your not keen on the idea, thats fine. I just thought we could maybe take advantage of the cheaper parts :)

I would need to get in in asap as i WAS meant to be going down to the Nurburgring as of 30th April until my clutch went two days ago. I can get my car dropped off to him via AA so not only would i need the cambelt etc etc but i would have to pay extra for the clutch

Earlier the better for me :(

Hello All,

Right, this is all going a bit crazy lol.

The prices all reflect discounts in labour for the respective quantities so I am sorry to say that I cannot accept deposits for 'virtual' customers as there is no guarantee that they will come along in a decent time period (otherwise they might as well job the GB now). As it would stand, I would be further out of pocket waiting for some jobs which might never come along. Sorry, but if there are only 7 people then I can only do a GB for 7 people, otherwise you might as well put down 25 deposits and be sorted for a very long time.

As people will be needing this done soon I would as all interested parties to email me their contact details to [email protected] and I will call up to take the deposit and order the parts and to book in those people who need the job urgently.

I will email an invoice/reciept to each customer for the deposit amount. When it comes to the job completion a final invoice for the remaining amount will be issued for the balance so you will have 2 invoices total, this is to keep my accounts tidy and not have invoices standing unpaid for long periods of time.

If you are unsure of when you'd be looking to have the work done in the future and the date is 'open' then I would prefer to have 1 month prior contact to booking a date as I have no idea how busy things will be in the future.

Regards

Ben
