Personally i'm grateful someone finally has the sacks to make a decision and do something instead of us sitting waiting for shag all to happen. Yeah, im a bit peeved my 4.5K post count has gone for a burton but if the guys investing their time, effort and knowledge have taken the step to start afresh then i'll (for once) live with it. I Can say it all again anyway, and lets be honest, we said it all on network 54, and repeatedly on the PHP boards, and we'd STILL post it again when a newbie trolls along asking why his ABS don't work.

It's a sad fact but 65-odd members, half of which dont use the site doesnt warrant much more than one forum let alone a bloody set of em.

Everything else did, but not that. Events is broke and stale, an actual site is broke and stale, the old fora were thriving and healthy but they get changed.

If I wanted know about the 21Turbo, I'd want something to look at, not just read. I'd wanna visit a site like I did 6 yrs ago.

The thing is Lee, the resource has always been there, thats the irritating thing. Every offer of my collection has been basically snubbed, every document i've written never appeared on the site. Common faults was used in a national magazine before here.
I Gave some stuff to Rach when she was chair of RTOC and it was scanned and up in a week (few years ago now) and its STILL there.

We have the resources, they just ain't being used.

in rtocs defense,, they run a database system so any info recieved can be quickly and easily added, with 21toc however the system we had at the time required the input and time of 1 individual who worked on the website,,and no one else could add any of the collective info we had or was offered

with the change we now see happening with this fora then i can see us all being able to do something similar to rtoc or daves new fora..altho we did have the same system of it in the "album" area of the other fora where members could add photos or scans of magazines etc,, sadly many didnt bother to use it,,so really its not we didnt have b4,,its members didnt use it

its great that something is happening on this fora ,even with the hicups and glitches,,, but still at a loss as to why we r archivin yet another fora,,when the same upgrades we are plannin here,,are available for the other fora, on a system we all know and worked,,but just needed a shake up!!!!!

Yeah RTOC had a database but we're talking YEARS of inaction here. If we had got started at the beginning jus think what we'd have by now.
I Ain't offering any more help to this club or it's management cos i'm sick of it being ignored or refused, I almost wish now poor andy hadnt got involved with the whole thing and i'd told him to steer clear, after all the level of communication from the 'team', well, i can't comment on it cos it don't exist. As usual. If there had been input in the first place maybe things would have been different.

sadly we all can say wish we tried things one way or another, weve tried different ways, different volunteer webmasters, even paying someone,,

we tried,,we failed and we' try again.

views on the website were being discussed on the "old" fora between everyone and what people would like to see on it, and like everyone,we were all waiting to see what was gona happen to the website..

from some of the comments some of us are surprised with a new fora rather than a "website" but we're all happy to see something happening and await to see continued progress,

apologies for expressing an opinion,, but seem to recall a question being asked

i hope andy and lees colabration continues with the fora/website and that we all in due course finaly have what we have patiently waited for

But then I have only been on here for a bit. But hoping to return to driving a 21 turbo soon.

I guess what I like to see is tips on sorting problems out. I think this may of had it on the old site.

My personal opinion isnt biased in ANY way toward whoever made all these changes but an EDUCATED one...

Im a systems tester by trade, and all i'll say is no matter how many times you test a new system/changes... you may always end up with errors... no matter whos fault; human or system generated.

I like the new site personally... evolution is a natural thing and i've had experience with phppb and v-bulletin boards - great things, especially the garage option

I dont mind the work , i dont mind using up my time. I dont mind dodging my boss as I have to do this "work" at work.

I am sure i can speak on behalf of Lee , when i say that we are towards what we want as a community. Any feedback given , wether postive or negative will be taken on board by the powers that be.

Stick with it , its an evolution. Anyone that says nothing should go live whilst being tested is living in a dream world. Prime example is cars , we all tune them.

Enough for now.
