5 GT Turbo best headlight upgrade options

Ok so I am some way off in worrying about this but I like to think ahead

Headlight upgrades, I know they will never be a patch on the latest generation of options but.....

What is tried and tested?

I found hid's worked really well on the vx220 but have a projector style lenses which seem to work better

Tried a load of 100% lighter normal bulbs but they are limited improvement

I don't like the stick out like a sore thumb chav styleeeeeee lights

Hid's are a no no without projector headlamps unless you fancy dazzling everybody. You will never get them as good as modern day xenon so just bosh a quality pair of bulbs in.

Yes the blinding people last thing on my list and hence no chav light option

Any recommendations on bulbs?

Osram Nightbreakers are really good.
For about 6 months. Then they seem to dull ?
