Jainy,
did you try Confused.com yet?
what was the lowest?

Have you had a word with the Insurance companies then, and its all down to the Post code?

Simon

The "POSTCODE" and "desirability" of the car are the 2 main pricing factors for insurance according to the guy at Noel Dazely Insurance....(but we didn't need a bendy pipe and deerstalker to work that one out!!) Both are "high risk" in my case. :(

It's going worse.... :( :? Called Confused and they said £1683..!!! (keep taking the Class A drugs guys..!!) Also spoke to a really helpful guy at Noel Dazely and he couldn't get any lower than £800 (even though I did mention that R Andy had told me to contact them.!)

Anyway, just need to shop about some more - even tried Sheila's Wheels (don't go there..!!) and they came back with £1800 ...Mmmmm....lots of benefits for being a woman V6 driver then...???!!! NOT..!! :x

So the saga continues....anyone any other suggestions...?? All welcome....!!!

JAINY.

My god, how bad is your area then??
Is it Chav central or something...lol ;)

I am about the same age, only have 4 years NCD (as last car was stolen), car is a little older (53 plate) and I only paid £405 this year?

£410 was cheapest on Confused.com site for me, but highest was £1650??

Simon

I wouldn't mind if I lived in the Bronx-crime-capital of the North, but I live in a cottage on a country lane, in an 'out-in-the-sticks-hamlet' of no more than 20 cottages and 1 pub..???

Nope, I don't live in Chav central - but....I have a Chav-Central estate about 2.5 miles away from the hamlet where I live, which also happens to be under the same postcode as me....there lies the problem...

JAINY

Well I'm am amazed at how much more yours is? just over a Post Code?

We live in a quiet Village, but also have a Chav Estate only about 3 miles away, but not of the same Post code thank god lol :)

Simon

Bl**dy hell Simon - you're great in a crisis aren't you..??!! NOT HA HA !!!   great words of support..!! PMSL..!!!
Might have to go back to Adrian Flux ......

Jainy :)

Jainy ... have you tried quotemehappy?

At first they did ... but then I noticed the excess ... and when I decreased the excess of course the costs went up but they were still competitive.

When it came to my house insurance this year they definitely did quotemehappy ... bargain and fixed for two years.

Do it online ... most insurers give a 10%+ discount for online applications! Their application only takes a minute or two to go thru' too.

Jainy,

Try elephant.co.uk, the lad I bought my car from recommended them and sure enough the came out cheapest for me - £525 with 13 years protected no claims. Also have you tried Norwich Union Direct :?: - they were pretty close.
One other factor that may affect your premium is if you have your car garaged or not.

Just keep shopping around - hopefully you'll get a reasonable quote soon :!:

I've also heard Tesco's :!: are good for Subaru STI's so maybe it's worth trying there as well.
