:? CONFUSED.....? You bet..... :? (not to mention shocked...!!)

I called Bell today - afterall, everyone on here raves about how good they are and how cheap the quotes are. So, given Adrian Flux had sent me a policy renewal that was £200 quid more expensive than the quote over the phone, I thought what the hell.! :)

The guy was not very helpful, he actually sounded like he was sat in his living room watching the footie with a can of stella.!! The TV was that loud I could have gave everyone in the office a running commentary..!!

Anyway, after asking the usual Q's - Age (old!!), Years no caims (13 and protected) Years driving (too many to mention!!) and annual mileage (LESS than 3,000/YEAR !!) he came back with a quote of £905 quid WHAT..???!!! where the hell did you get that from mate..??!! (height minus your shoe size multiplied by your age..???!!) Interesting equation my friend..I too must try taking class A drugs....but what happened to the <£500 quid quotes you have given to my Vee-buddies on V6Clio.net...???!! Apparently...because I have "NO" no-claims - this is the issue... :? :? :?

Now, I know I am female guys and therefore 'could' be missing something blatantly obvious here....but I actually thought I would be an 'insurers' dream ....you know...being old...female...and well...old...!! Obviously not.....

So, before I consider throwing myself off Beachy-Head...does anyone have any suggestions as to who else to try...?? (DON'T SAY SAGA...!!!!!  )

Cheers
Jainy. :D

Adrain Flux always tell me they will beat any quote you can get, so I go onto Confused.com, get the cheapest quote, go back to Adrain flux and so far they have always beaten it :)

£405 this year with only 4 years NCD

Could try Greenlight. Affiliated to Cliosport.net
They do mine which has a couple of modifications, not sure how they'd be on standard......

Or direct to Neil Fehilly@Greenlight 0870 753 5455

best of luck.....

Cheers TRW1 - much appreciated, I'll give the guy a ring tomorrow and also try SimonV6's response regarding playing Adrian Flux off against 'confused.com'.... :)

Thanks guys....I'll let you know how I get on...

Cheers

Hi TRW1,

I called Neil today and asked him for a quote for the Vee :( unfortunately he came back and said the lowest quote he could get for me was £700...!!! I am really struggling to understand why the hell it's so expensive, when guys on here in their 20's are getting quotes of £400/£500...???? :? :?

I wouldn't mind if I lived in the Bronx-crime-capital of the North, but I live in a cottage on a country lane, in an 'out-in-the-sticks-hamlet' of no more than 20 cottages and 1 pub..???

Do you reckon I missing something here..?!! :? :?

Jainy ... don't supposed you've had any non-fault claims in the last 3 years? Admiral Group ream you if you have ... fucking stupid policy but they refuse to budge claiming that statistics show that if you've had someone hit you in the last 3 years, then you're more likely to have an fault claim, and so hence we're going to stick a couple of hundred more on  .

Hi Andy,

Nope, nothing like that at all... :? I'm about to open another "T'interweb" sesh and see what other quotes I can get...I've even got 13 years 'protected' no-claims....it's exceptionally odd this....?? :?

Thanks for the help.... :)

(Simon, I'll let you know what Confused comes back with...not holding out much hope to be honest.....but I'll give it a whirl....I'll try anything once...!!)

Jainy,
Not aware of any 20somethings with quotes quite that low......some of the older buggers maybe. Yours is still higher than I would have thought though. I wonder if they think a lady driver of a V6 will crash at the first sign of a corner?
Hope you can find a better quote soon.........

Tim

My wife's insurance is £800 odd quid for a group 20 car with elephant. Shes 28 with full no claims......it would be much cheaper if she lived on the mainland. Northern Ireland is still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to insurance!

Postcodes are the issue  - I live out in the sticks, but the same first 3 digits of my postcode happen to cover a very, very, dodgy estate about 2/3 miles away from me....!!! :? I bet the insurance company's PC blew up when they entered my postcode..!!

give them a different postcode...

Que..???!!! :? How's that work then..? (posting of documents....if the car's nicked from outside my house....etc., etc.,...??) :?

I shall bear that in mind...!!! (probably you and every other guy on here I think....judging from some of the posts..!!) Humour is good..!!

Jainy,
did you try Confused.com yet?
what was the lowest?

Have you had a word with the Insurance companies then, and its all down to the Post code?
