A cheap way of replacing switch bulbs without the need of specalist bulbs or replacing the whole switch.

10 X 286TC / 206T CAR BULB BULBS PANEL 12V 1.2W BLACK SPEEDO DIAL DASH LIGHT

Remove switch rocker with flat blade screwdriver.

Contacts are wrapped around pegs


Remove old bulb and straighten contacts, remove contacts at the base of the bulb and keep for later.

Bend back the locating pins on the new bulb.

Replacement bulb broken down to gain access to just bulb and contacts. Pull up on the metal locking pieces to loosen bulb from housing.

Place bulb in switch holder and superglue at the base where circled to hold in place new bulb,
DO NOT GLUE on the glass, only the green plastic.

Use the contacts you removed earlier and extend the ones on the new bulb by soldering them on, use a heatsink so you dont damage the bulb filament.

Once cool wind the newly extended contacts around the pins so it looks how it did in photo 3.

Re assembled switch

Replace rocker cap.

Job done. Give yourself a pat on the back.
