I think we are onto a winner. With Steve Swans expert guidance the later bellhousing is on along with the Steve Swan special input shaft (immediately puts the value of the car up, just wait till I get Salv Sacco on the list too for modding a dizzy or something 🤣 )

Old bell housing off, engine mount out of the way, hole drilled in the side to punch the scroll pin out holding the input shaft. Same hole used to refit the modded input shaft. A clean out of the box and the mating faces, some sealant. Bit of lube on the new lip seal and bish bash bosh the gearbox bellhousing is on.

I will get out there and check that. Ill pop the camera underneath and make sure it all looks good (y)

I wish, still plenty to do and check. Need to adjust the clutch cable still and check it disengages the box before I go much further. Awaiting some parts too so will be on a go slow for a couple of weeks.

This certainly feels like a backwards step.... the ports seem tiny!

Little update

Adjusted the clutch cable and can now engage and disengage the gearbox. Trialled it worked by clutching in and out and lt allowing the car to roll down my drive. Was a pain pushing it back up the incline to clear the garage door though....

Received a package from @BobG all the way from Ohio!! (huge thank you) it included a tubular manifold and modified intake manifold. The exhaust is already sat in place the inlet needs a tweak to work but all looks good so far and if I can make it work sorts the issue of the carb sitting flat.

Refitted the rear fuel tank cover/panel and started wiring things up. Need to find a location for the temp sensor and remake a connection for the oil switch but everything else is in place.

Rad panel is swung in too so can crack on with the cooling side of things.

Looking good now. Will need to take a look at the exhaust and how i want to make/route that. Very tempted to go with a sideways mounts "devil" type setup

Thanks for reading

Was reading through this wondering about the port spacings, but can now see that it is adapted. It would be a worthwhile project to make the transition from the older style manifold to the head as smooth (in shape) as possible. Something to mess with once you have got it going. If you can keep the inlet manifolds water system working that would be good too, for helping Atomization when warming up and preventing overheating on longer runs. That should all work well. For what it's worth making the exhaust as long as you can will help a bit, making better power across a wider rev range. It won't be a lot, but `Every little helps'

Few more tweaks, manifolds now on, 2 lower bolts need tightening but that can wait ill I jack the car back up.

All being well I can give it a test fire again this weekend.

Need to fit the bracket for the throttle back on and figure out a way of connecting that all up.
