Hello everyone!does anybody know if an original williams ecu will work properly on a r19 16v with the following engine setup:f7r block,f7p head(with williams cams)and f7p std loom. The ecu plug pins are the same in number and locations between r19 16v and clio williams?

I'm not entirely certain, if you're on facebook go onto the Retro Renault facebook page and tag a guy called 'ash lusty, he has done the conversion many times and can tell you everything you will need to do this on a good budget

I believe you can just switch out the bottom end for the 2.0 end and do pretty much nothing else

147-150bhp with a bit more torque I believe, it's a very simple project though, however if you take a full F7R engine and switch it it's a much bigger and more expensive project

Get an enclosed induction kit, better exhaust and you'll get a few extra bhp, also decat, but after you do all of this (decat, exhaust, cold air kit) get it remapped

well all these always sound like a good idea.i've done many intake-exchaust-remap mods on several models but i can tell you...nothing can be compared to the increased size of the internal parts of an engine..the question is if the 1.8 ecu will work properly only with the 2.0 bottom end..most propably the best solution is to use the williams ecu as it is..
