Well that’s the first race weekend done.
Qualified 5th With a 54.8, really struggling for grip and car didn’t have the usual grunt.
Disappointed but settled for 5th with the new set up.
Car feels very different.
So was it a set up issue or a greasy track?
Lots of people complaining of lack of grip.
Decided it was a set up issue to try and get car turning in better and mid corner grip.
Bit more toe out on the front.. if it was quick job , I would have adjusted the rear toe as well to get car rotating.
Race 1
Green flag lap….I do a practice start with the launch control and had nothing but a 4500rpm rev cut. Turned it off and had to do standing start with 250bhp
It wasn’t good, lost loads of places !!!
Got back up to o 5th with car feeling better in the corners and on the back of 4th place but was didn’t have the legs, car didn’t have power we usually have.
Settled for 5th with a 54.1.
In the paddock we went straight to the turbo to see all the turbo bolts on the turbine side hanging out, just the lockwire stopping the whole thing falling apart.
There’s our missing power !!!!
Race 2 cancelled due to barrier damage with the. Trucks.
Plenty of jobs to do for Silverstone in June.

That's frustrating, more power left with a tweak to map or think happened after?

So Frustrating Duncan….
Was all good mapping with no signs of leaks, everything was clean as a whistle.
The trackday on the other hand was a different story with loose bolts and soot all over the place.
Fixed that , so all good again.
Race day , not good…worse than ever !!!!
Just got back from dropping turbo to Bernie, a quick inspection was not good and all heat related.
Housing is no longer round with a damaged Turbine wheel.
He told me not to lag the turbo
