Weighs more and dulls the performance feel/respnsiveness of the car! I'd whip it straight out it was my Ph2!!

I shouldn't see why I wouldn't be in the vee. I've just got to arrange collection from Scott's. Hopefully next Saturday. Going to have to adapt my driving style as I've got accustomed to 4WD, fast in, fast through and fast out. Imagine trying that in the vee! Lol

Indeed, that is the compromise with the DMF, which I had noticed when I first test drove #002 - the first Vee I ever drove, but given that it is a GT type I wasn't surprised, and wouldn't want to change its character too much if the noise too intrusive. i had already primed Scott about it when #002 goes in for its cam belt and service before spring.

As regards change of driving style, yep, but I bet you will be surprised how easy it will be to adapt though...............but it would be best to pick a dry day when you go to pick up the Vee!

True. I'm less worried about chatter owing to the straight pipes but glad I dodged the DMF bullet.

Sure I'll be learneresque in the bends. On the straights it'll get prodded, but the braking distance for corners will quadruple no doubt! Going to be a very different experience though :approve:

I've competely forgotten what the car is like to drive, so I'm not going to have anything to compare the coilies to!! lol

The dampers are on a softer setting at the mo as I don't want to go squirting off into a hedge, but I'll play around with all the settings over the coming weeks to see what difference it makes. Want a nice controlled and compliant ride, but also want to try and get the rear a bit lower as it came out of the factory all a bit 4x4 back there!

Are the dampers two way adjustable Jon?

Not particularly well versed in all things suspension and I'm taking a punt on the BCs as you know, but their website says the below re. damping. Full write-up here ----> LINK

BR Series coilovers feature 30 way damping adjustment that combines both rebound and compression in one adjuster for simplicity and ease of use. This adjustable facility allows you to fine tune the vehicle to meet the relevant conditions.

I think you're right Brett about future values, not that I concentrate on or know much about such things!! The B5 RS4 is arguably the last of the non-mass market RS products - it is a bloody special car and I'm really glad I took the plunge. It's a real shame it has to go but I think the time is right. I will miss it's ability to blitz about, annihilating roads into submission but the vee is a different kind of enjoyment and it's also a much simpler beast, which really suits my basic mechanical knowledge!

Think my Vee will be between 260bhp and 270bhp and with the weight loss programme I'm gonnna put it on I think it should be usefully faster than a standard ph2. It's never going to set the world on fire but I've well and truely scratched the POWER itch I had but I will be back in a B5 RS4 one day when funds allow

Selling will release some much needed cash and I can see some money heading Quaife's way once it's sold

LSD is well and truly on the 2014 list - just got to see how well the Ph2 gearbox holds up before I pour any money into it.

Oh and got to carry on working through the 2013 list first, which, as you know, is a bit never-ending!!

At some point probably. Wrap is still under guarantee until middle of next year, so no changes until then at the earliest. Really happy with how it looks at the mo, but I do miss the paint finish and lustre - sticky back plastic, whilst being much easier to live with, just doesn't have that depth of shine!

Don't ask me what colour because I change my mind every 35 seconds, but it'll definintely be a Renault colour; Storm Grey, Petrol Blue, Alien Green, Oyster Grey, Illiad (ph1), Techincal Grey, Primer, Racing Blue are all in the mix as is Iceberg strangely enough.

Insured, MOTd, taxed and ready to roll.........straight to Ben for a remap and poke around to make sure the engine is performing as well as it can do!

Insurance cost me £24.69.........for one week, as the car will be SORN again once back from Ben's until the weather warms up a bit. Bits and bobs to be fitted on to the car so plenty to be getting on with before the show season begins [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Gonna try and get some decent photos of it before it dissappears again. Google Maps tells me I'll get to enjoy the car for precisely 1hr and 23 mins between Scott and Ben's before it's back into another workshop!! lol.
