williams beating an RS

talking of fords, i owned a sieera XR 4X4, wasnt exactly quick of the mark, but it did keep up with quite a few cars!

i spun it in the end, in a lane, wasnt very well after that, kept running tho

the xr4's problem was the big heavy V6 up front! The SA/US/OZ xr's had the v8 in them which was lighter and faster.

sierra xr 4x4s 2.8 and 2.9s were not exactly quick but i think they were 150 bhp, the cologne engines in them weighed more than the car its self lol my friend has a xr4i with a scorpio cossie 24v lump in it with supercharger its running 257 bhp that thing is very quick:twisted:

mine was a 1986 C reg one, 2.8, it was damn fast but not quick, and it looked quite good for its age, handled well around corners and in the wet, lol

my friend had a black b reg with whale tale etc 2.8 4i it was supposedley castle coombes own track car for passenger rides etc but know how true that is,
that thing had also sorts done to the engine, he was doing 70 in 3rd once whacked his boot down double clutched it and the back wheels just spun like crazy his wife made him get rid of it before he killed himself he swapped it for an xrpoo which he then sold for £250
what a waste

LOL my dad had a capri 2.8i, and they were supposedly 160bhp standard, but that was a load of bollocks. My dad had fast road cams, stage 3 gas flowed heads and other shit I can't remember and when he did the printout on the rolling road it was only 147bhp!

The comedy thing about that car was that it was so old they couldn't chip it. The ECU was about 5 relays or something haha.

^^ Haha, I still remember it like it was yesterday, fucking awesome car, two tone green. Racing Green on top and then the bottom/sills were a lighter green and he had 15" TSW 7 spke gold wheels. Back when 15" were what the big dawgs rolled on! HOLLA! Haha. Fuck westood!

the fezzers came with those gay 3 spokes as standard but every mofo in the late 80's - mid 90's wanted 3 spokes.

Back then Cars that had 130bhp were some of the fastest on the road. Cosworths were the balls. And no one had heard of a scooby 4x4 turby.

Sunny's Fiesta.... beast. Then again I would say that.

Yeah the Zetec's are hard to cater for in terms of transmission and diffs. That's why my cousin ditched the entire lump in favour of a de-stroked Mazda 2.3 lump.

fiesta r s turbo wheels were minging but 3 spokes were popular then same as the tsw venoms they were hideous but people loved them to the end of the 90s, nowadays you stick any of those style of wheels on your and you are a laughing stock:eek:

i would love a set of 15 inch ronal turbos:twisted: on my 19 just to be different, but i cant afford ronals lol
