widowmaker abs removal

i picked up the blue ph1 cab today, the brakes are foot to the floor non effective,
there seems to be enough fluid in the reservoir, it has the bendix abs system, which i have never had in any 19 before, and know nothing about, there is a warning light on the dash, of a car skidding

i have seen comments in other threads that bendix abs is best removed, is this correct ,and how would i go about doing it,cheers

Well anyway, it's not important... if it's not working it's not working and it's not worth trying to troubleshoot it unless the problem is a fuse or something (which it almost certainly wont be)

You need to take the engine out and fit a Bosch-ABS or non-ABS (both the same) pedal box, servo and master cylinder, plus reservoir etc etc etc.

The valve went on my one so it couldnt keep presurized, renault wanted £750 for a new one at the time, but that was 10 years ago now

ouch, thats more involved than i wanted to get, its also got a high clutch pedal,
think i will offer it for sale on here, and fleabay it

do you want to pm me an email, i would sell it for £250, thats what it cost me to buy and recover, i would love it to get sorted out, its a nice solid, largely original car, i will be selling it with the current roof off my cabby, which has also split but nowhere near as bad
