Who would be able to change the locks on my 5GTT?

On the 5 I've recenlty bought the passenger lock is messed up and central locking on that side doesnt work, also I dont have a key for the doors.

So I've ordered a new set of locks 2 front, 1 boot and a key from GTTurboSpares, and I dont want to attempt something like this myself really. I did ring an automotive locksmith who covers my area, but he wasnt very helpful replying with 'yes, no & maybe' throughout the conversation and didnt really seem very interested in all honesty.

Would a normal mechanic be able to fit the new locks and possibly sort the fault with passenger side central locking, or could it possibly be trial and error trying different mechanics to see if they can do it?

Also is the scorpian alarm system on my 5 be an aftermarket thing or are they standard with it?

Thanks for the help

Ash

Changing the barrels is very easy.
Pop the door cars off, there's a clip that slides in to hold the barrel and a rod that slips in to activate the mechanism.
If you need to remove the actual latching part, it's 2 torx screws and it comes out easily.
There's only connecting rods and one plug (from what I remember) so there isn't a lot to go wrong.

Thanks for that I'll take a look when the keys arrive, maybe if I sort that it may help the central locking, because it tries to work but the barrel is a bit dislodged and probably doesn't allow it to lock maybe?

Thanks for that, I'll actually have a look before my new locks turn up and see if I can possibly sort that lock out and see if that helps with central locking, although I will change all the locks anyway as I haven't got a key for the doors -.-
