Well started on this finally, right i wnt to fit an oil pressure an oil temp gauge is there anywhere to take these from or is it a sandwich plate?
Cheers

A "garage" I once used had the idea but said it was a right pain, so nothing came of it other than the holder for the gauges. (which looked crap)

You might have to have a take off from around the filter side somewhere. Its very tight around there mind. Regarding where to put the guage, I'd recomend fitting a single digital one in place of the clock. Bill Patchall has done it using something else and it looks very neat and tidy.

Actually there should be e temp sensor integrated in the oil level sensor which seems to be wired to the ECU (not confirmed yet). An easy way to place the pressure sensor usually is a T-piece adapter where the oil pressure switch is (don't know if this works either). So in the end a sandwich plate is probably the best and easiest solution. Why would that be a pain...?

Bretts suggestions where the place the gauge is exactly what I would do unless you really want such a fancy holder like James :)

Not worried about where to put gauge in cabin as yet...
Not the biggest fan of sandwich plates but looks like the easiest option at moment,
Only a few little bits left to do now so hopefully ready for the first round of sprint series in march.... Whoop whoop!!!

Cheers

What engine are you running Mic? I remember you saying its running with a distributor and carbs. Only reason being there maybe a certain part or an easier way depending on what engine it is.

Brett

It's the v6 out of the Clio, an yea running with dizzy an carbs, I've a couple more engines so will have a look at them in more detail to see but I think it's a sandwich plate..

Cheers

Can't be an L7X motor if it has a dizzy powered off the camshafts. Do you mean like a megajolt set up or ignition only ecu? Either way, I bet this car will shift!

This car has no ecu, it is the clio engine was tryin to put a pic up but cant lol!!! and you will see!!!!!!!

Managed to find a sandwich plate in my boxes of many bits so will try that art weekend..

Cheers

Email or pm it to James or Shaun (Williams). We need to see pictures!!!!!! Lol

......And a video when its competing!

Is this the twin turbo'd monster I remember seeing for sale?

If it is, where are them photo's and moe importantly a live project thread ;)

Theres a couple on facebook....

so how you put pics on this site?

Cheers

one more question: anyone know a part number for the auxillary belt if i removed aircon pump. if there is one of course......

cheers

I'm not sure Mic but it would be worth looking across the Renault, Peugeot and Citeroen range for a model not using it. Maybe off of an older Laguna or 406.

Just been doing some digging about and the last v6 engine renault made with a distributor was the Z7X. This was fitted to the early laguna with a 5 speed, transverse gearbox and was then changed to the L7X. That happened just as the clio v6 started being mocked up in '98. If yours is a Z7X, it could open up a lot more scope for tuning as there were a number of Alpine Turbo's that used it. Would also make finding that belt easier.

That's pretty interesting thanks, will have a deeper look into that, will get the engine number an have a check, next time I go to it,,,

Cheers
