What are you going to buy to replace your current car ? If at all ...

I am not sure.I have a long term plan to build a SWB quattro, but I am struggling to find a better all rounder than the meg for similar money.
Its quick - 313.5bhp and 325ibft makes that happen. Its comfy, reliable and makes the right noises.

Stuck !

Hopefully 3 changes this year. Daily drivers both need changing. Have a CRV for the winter and I really don't like it, and using a Phase 1 Clio 172 as a runabout. The CRV will be sold and the Clio broken up as I want the mechanical bits for my Renault 8 project. Want a 2 car combo for 5k that covers being an estate, a proper luxury car , 4 wheel drive, and economical but decently quick runabout. Have decided on a Passat W8 Estate, with a Legacy 3.0 Spec Estate as back up if I can't find one. And an Ibiza 1.9 TDi FR. Remapped give 170 bhp 270 ft/lbs 1100 kg and 50-60 mpg.

Later in the year going to sell my silver GTA and replace with something in the 10-12k bracket. Hopefully a Megane RS. Girlfriend is paying half though so something a bit more comfy might be in the offing. 335d coupe has been mentioned.

tbh im going to keep mine until something goes catastrophically wrong if it does at all! never had a car like my 225 can never see myself falling out with it...... but if i do i would probs go down skyline r32 gtr route

Got a very clean R32 GTR in the garage that I rarely use. '92 car and everything still works perfectly. Even the aircon is still ice cold 10 years after I bought it and its never been gassed! Very quick but not as much fun on country lanes or bumpy roads as a well sorted hot hatch.
The 8 Project will be a slow burner. The rear will have a transverse Clio engine and 'box with the aircon pump swapped for a small supercharger. Hoping to try and use Clio bits up front too if possible but not sure how feasible this will be yet.

I always say I'm selling G my Bora to get another Sport KA or Evo. Or something like a Subaru Forester or Nissan S13 but I can never bring myself to do it.
I really REALLY want a 5 Gordini or Alpine at the moment but finding one I can afford isn't going so well.

I've always had a thing for an R32. Am ER32 would suit me very well :)

I have a pang for a bnr32 as well. also a rx7 , and a supra , clio v6 , and strangely a tdi 3 litre v6 phaeton.

I keep banging on about selling the Clio 182 but every now and then I fall back in love with it and spend more money on it. Once it's remapped at Scoffs (really hoping for nothing less than 260hp) i'll love it again.

There really isn't another car out there pound for pound that will match it, it's embarrassed cars worth so much more, so at this moment I can't think of anything to replace it with.

I'm happy with my fleet. Would maybe upgrade the 2002 S60 D5 to a later model V70D5, but the 21 and Clio and 9 are staying.

I do have an itch for a Meg225 though.

Im pretty happy with my bmw 123d coupe which is my current daily. I bought it when it was 6 months old back in 2012. Main reason I bought it was because it was the quickest 4 cylinder diesel you could get and I preferred the looks over its rivals. The only downside was the cost, they arnt cheap. For the same price, I could have got a porsche 996/997, or a nearly new EVO, a few year old E92 M3, or a couple of Clio V6`s or god knows what else. But at the time I was getting sick of the £1200 a month the Nissan 350z I had at the time was costing me to run - mainly the £450 a month on fuel and horrendous depreciation were the killers and so my "sensible" head won and I bought the 123d.

3 years later and im pretty pleased. Running costs have been hardly anything, servicing was surprisingly reasonable at BMW (and now thats its just fell out of the 3 year new warranty I am servicing it myself). Depreciation has been exactly what I expected, insurance is cheap and it still looks like its just come off the forecourt - immaculate. However, every so often I have a hankering for another fast petrol car. I did find myself looking at C63 AMG`s the other day, but I just cant justify getting one as id be back to how things was with my 350z.

The 123d does 0-60 in 6.something and im getting 45mpg out of it on my weekly commute. It handles really well and is quite a nice ride. So for me its kinda best of both worlds - nice (reasonably) economical commuting car, then if I want some fun I can turn off on the back rounds and have some. Off the lights its surprises no end of much "sportier" cars. One thing I am contemplating is having it remapped as you can get 300bhp and 400ft/lb out of them now which apparently makes them pretty mental.

Got given a Vectra last week.... so the Megane is on the parents Drive....

Lucy has a Focus to learn to drive in, when she passes may get a suzuki Swift or a Twingo sport....

As for me, the Vectra won't be staying long, the Megane is up for sale.... but if it don't sell will keep it as a toy car, wouldn't mind a Nice normal car for me as a daily... such as a 330 D

Haha steve you make me chuckle.....

The Megane is still in my ownership... if i can keep it i will, but there is nothing wrong with a change of car every 3-6 months....not like I buy them to make a profit, just get bored and like a change....One day I may find a keeper, until that day comes I intend on trying lots of different cars.

Ive never understood how people can do that, all the hassle of advertising, time wasters, then the car might struggle to sell so you end up dropping the price etc. etc. I hate it so much that with my last car I ended up part ex`ing it for 3 grand less than the normal private sale price just to get shot of it. However, i guess it depends on the car & value, I have found in the past that more "normal" or lower value cars seem to sell easy enough. Another thing, as a buyer, if the previous owner had only had their car for 3-6months before selling it, id wonder what is wrong with it and suspect maybe they have found some problem and are just off-loading it!

:search.gif:I Must buy another rx8 , I keep on buying these at auctions and bloody love them , such a great car to drive , handling is good and 10000 rpm , well why not lol , and looks great , hold the traction control button for 10 seconds and do donuts untill you have no tyres left ;)

I have an Insignia Special Edition with Uprated Bose Stereo for daily and love it. Lifetime warranty (Up to 100k) and after nearly a year of ownership it has only done 7k so warranty should last 12+ years :-)
Wife has a corsa automatic as she has bad knee and cant do clutches again with the lifetime 100k warranty.
Got the Phat 5 as a toy but really fancy a 197 turbod in liquid yellow.
Need to build the secret underground car park beneath my garden and then I can start collecting all the childhood dream cars. :clapping.gif:
