Whatever it is, looks like there will be one less F40: LINK

"The same source also says that this was the first time the car's been driven in five years, a fact which may partly explain why and how it slid off the road. A car that hasn't been driven in half a decade likely hasn't had its tires changed in that amount of time either. Bad tires coupled with an unforgiving, mid-engined super sports car is, as we've previously learned, a recipe for disaster."

There will undoubtedly be a classified advert in years to come listing this car as a 'fully restored, original F40'.

As with all the Ferraris that race in classic series', anything can be rebuilt - as long as there's a chassis number to salvage!

The world will most definitely not be an F40 down. They are fixed no matter what these days. Even the sinders from the one in Monaco is fully underway. Parts are available even down to the correct steel tubing but its mega money.
