looks like a 32dis, off gt turbo to me. are there any tags on it or serial numbers? is this on a carb converted dini? common to use the gtt carb with that conversion
I think it is mean't to cut the old vent out, plate over and fill it, then sink the old vent in above the carb, perhaps with the plastic grill it will disguise the bulge? I tried looking at the old threads, can't recall if someone machined the inlet manifold down to sit the carb lower???
The inlet mani can be modified to fit the carb with the bonnet closed, I'm sure that's what @Haz told me back in the day, I ran with my bonnet jacked open at the back
I'd probably angle grind the top down until it cleared then get an alloy welder to patch it over with some thin flat sheet (assuming its only a few mm anyway)
Could you not use a silicone elbow hose in place of the plastic elbow? At least you could cut the 'height' down, plus if it squashes a bit when the bonnet is closed, it won't hurt...unless it completely squashes/occludes the hose of course.
Can take a feed off the comp' housing for the fpr boost ref'.
I sold a manifold years ago that had been machined down to accommodate the gt turbo carb a long time ago. to be honest it wasn't that great as the outer two runners were basically covered by the metal plate that had been welded to fit the gtt carb. Marts idea is the best, as a silicone angled piece will jubilee directly onto the carb top.
the carb looks like a mashup of a fuego/r18 turbo and a gtt one as the choke cable holder isn't like a gtt one, but the carb doesn't have a 3rd enricher on top of the enricher block (like a fuego turbo does).
