Interesting to hear peoples thoughts on why the 182 was as quick in a straight line as the 220t.

For me its the box... i'll explain why once other opinions/views are put forward
 
Im sure the last time i seen that gtt it was on wet tyres, boost lower than a cup car should be. Poor effort ! All good cars though
 
The 182 did well due to 2 main factors. The transmission losses through a Sequential gearbox (straight cut) are much less than those in a typical syncro box. The result is more power at the wheels. The other factor is weight
 
Great video. I remember doing a track day at Snetterton and Tim Harvey was out in a 182 Cup racer. It certainly didn't hang about!

Was that the gtt's temperature gauge light that was on after it finished three laps?
