I've spoken to a couple of insurance companies. Seems they inform the likes of Glasses and Parkers what the prices people insurance their cars for.
If felt a lower premium would be had by telling Flux my Vee is absolutely mint and it's worth £13K (to me) that figure doesn't help others who feel the car is worth more.
I told my insurers mine is worth £30,000 and have repeated this for the past 4 years.
I say 18k but they go by the glasses value or whatever they use so I doubt they'd pay that.
I normally just get '18k? Are you sure? It's a 5 year old Clio'
My current insurers seemed to know what it was so didn't question it but still, I doubt that would make any difference if obese unfortunate to have to claim.
