V6clio.net Forum Member Valuations

Duncan

Well-Known Member
Update May 2021 - due to workloads/time. Valuations currently only offered if absolutely necessary.

We are pleased to offer formal valuation letters to our Paid Forum members.

What is it for?

Valuations are intended to be of assistance to those setting an agreed value with their insurer at the start of an insurance policy.

Due to the limited numbers, variation in value and increasing value of our cars, setting an agreed value with your insurance provider is something to seriously consider. Without setting an agreed value, should an incident happen, you may find that you are unable to replace your car with like for like.

We will do what we can to help after an incident if you do not have an agreed value policy, however, this will be an uphill struggle and it is clearly preferable for all involved to have this documentation in place prior to starting the policy.

Valuations are offered as free service for Paid v6clio.net forum members.

Be aware that insurers or underwriters may reject the valuation provided and you may also need to provide your own research to your insurer.

How are valuations arrived at?

Valuations will be based upon specific details provided on the car (see below) considering the current market trends, advertised prices and recent sale prices.

The valuations will be provided based upon UK market prices, however, the UK market itself is affected by other markets (exports etc).

Standard cars fetch the highest market prices, modifications are generally considered to not increase the value of the car, however each car will be considered on an individual basis.

Valuation will generally be made without any physical inspection, however, physical inspection can be arranged at the clubs convenience.

How do I get a valuation?

To request a valuation, please email me on [email protected] with the following information:

Information to be required to be provided by the owner:

1. Forum User Name (to verify member status) :
2. Email address (to send the valuation letter too) :
3. Car Registration :
4. Plaque number :
5. Registration date :
6. Approximate mileage :
7. Colour and id pack items :
8. Number of previous owners:
9. General description of car and its history: (e.g. mechanical and physical condition, service history, modifications, HPI status, any media history). This information will be included on the valuation letter so please be specific.
10. Detailed recent photos showing the current condition of the car.
11. Car Chassis number

Valuation requests will normally be responded to within a maximum of 3 weeks, please indicate if you require an urgent response.

Good call...But at the moment the values are so unsettled that, i'd question the validity of the valuation. E.g. I'd say a Vee is worth X and another may say it's worth Y....There isn't a great deal of consistency.

I also didn't think insurance companies cared about service history and/or options...in the same way that a histroic car valuation doesn't require either.

Bottom line, this is still a positive step forward! Well done!

I can vouch for the valuation, top job.

Many thanks to James, Andy and Duncan for putting together the valuation for my car.

Great value-add service. Well done. :approve:

This certainly is a positive step in moving towards some sort of consistency on current and future values.......not to mention the benefit it gives if one had to do battle with an insurance company as result of an incident due their Vee not being on an agreed value policy.

I can also vouch for this service. I can see more insurance companies asking for this as market values rise.
Great work by all involved and thanks for the very prompt reply Duncan. :salut:

A great service if you need to haggle with an insurance company [smilie=icon_eek.gif], well done to all those involved :salut:

I haven't thought about this - is this facility available at Kimbo ? at least the car is there in the "flesh " and I would pay - or donate to the club ! Wether a insurance company will take the value on board is another question? As I have stated in a different thread - mine is insured at market value ! Do the REALLY mean that cause mine costs 290 a year to insure it doesn't measure up surely ?

Craigy, generally the best valuation is were Duncan our registrar has viewed the Vee, but many of are cars have lots of club history ownership which keeps track of its condition.

Unfortunately Duncan wont be attending Kimbo this year, he's a wee bit busy signing some other register ;)

However I have seen your Vee quite often, and will be able give my honest findings to Duncan should you want a valuation. :approve:

It's a nice thing to have James - as I say I didn't realise you did this. The car is now in better condition than used to be with the paint correction I had done and also I will have original pods back on soon - milage today is 20.390 ish (only drove it 1 hour ago ! Doh ! ) As u know Geoff paid for major service - front bumper re spray (10 chips already ) wheels referbished - new tyres all round In December 2014.
If you could James it would be much appreciated! ! Obviously I would make donation to club [smilie=yay.gif]

Something else to add maybe? A list of recommended insurers who provide such services?

Do we know of any insurers that have agreed to our club's valuations should the worst happen?

I use Classicline Insurance, Hinckley, for all my classic car insurance policies. They have proved to be very helpful, always on the ball at renewal and have never had an issue with them. They have agreed the value of my Vee, subject to the usual photographs and valuation letter superbly prepared by Duncan. I am now on my second year with them for the Vee.

Worth a call...

Oh, and thanks again Duncan preparing my valuation letter today, really appreciated.

Andy

Just in case this is of any help to others....

Just got a guaranteed value through ClassicLine of £40k on my car.

The last 2 yrs have been for £30k so, with all the work it's had done, asked for £40k. Had to let them know costs of modifications and it was agreed without any problems.
