TRW1 Progress Report

got a decent discount but still not cheap.
These are no longer available but they found some casings and so we built this up with the lowest ratios. Mike has the medium.
RRP for the sister box is 11000 euros plus another 2000 for the driveshafts, shifter and cables.......+vat
I paid 8200 euros for the box which meant all in it was about £10000. Mike's was about £12000 in total I believe for a used one so I couldn't turn it down.....just need to find a way to cover the expense now....
Quite a bit lighter than standard boxes and should be very quick on acceleration.......flat shifting and rev matching will all be setup too.
Depending on the final weight of the car 4 secs to 60 and sub 10 to 100 are feasible without the nitrous.

Not posted for a while but things are progressing although there have been a few changes to the plans...

Steve from GWR Motorsport is creating the wiring loom now and we're switching from the AIM Strada dash to a MoTeC SDL with MoTec Shift Light Module and Advanced Central Logger and 2 PDM 15 Power Distribution Modules (electronic fuse boxes)

Scott has turned a Tilton floor mounted pedal box upside down and bolted it to the bulkhead.....we'll have a brake bias adjuster on the dash. Now got a Mk2 throttle pedal but we need to get it adapted a little to sit in the right position.

The brake parts are all there now ready to be bolted on. Still AP Racing but better calipers and slightly bigger rear disks than standard so we can run a caliper for the fly-off hydraulic handbrake.

Resevoirs fitted to the front strut brace and we'll put a big hole in the bonnet for cooling as per the Rally Car.

Finally we're going with ITBs which we'll run drive by wire...Leaving the nitrous off......for the time being at least....

Have most of the bits, just needs putting together.
Steve @ GWR Motorsport is working on the MoTeC install now.
Am at Scott's tomorrow so will post pics if they're worth looking at......

Blimey !!! That is looking awesome.

Scott's ability to swap between working on monsters like this and wee fluffy Vees like mine is impressive. :approve:

OMG

Going to Chippenham for a dribble.

if it steams when it starts I apologise - I just have to dribble into trumpets - I've tried counseling but the squirrels still make me do it!

That car is going to be sooooooo cool when its done!

Fine words indeed coming from the Master....

Please don't dribble on it.....you could set us back months.

I'll eat 40 cream crackers before I get there - its the only cure!!

Will it be ready for summer 2010 - notice I put a year in there!?
