Just working on the R888's now

rear mk2 is 245/40 18 (happy with that?)

what size are people running on the front (mk2)

can someone remind me of mk1 sizes, i "think" its 205/50 17 front and 235/45 17 rear, but i have no idea to be honest! haha

I think r888 on the front is a potential problem for the mk2. I think 215x40x18 is acceptable, but 225x40x18 is a squeeze which I think is the smallest width they do.

Fred am interested in a full set for a PH2 could you send me a price please.

Also after 2 195 60 16 H

Let me know, thanks

I was just playing safe showing the bog standard OE info we have available. What I am not skilled in I leave for the experts like Scott.

I hope not, Im looking for a set very soon. Lets see if we can bring this back to life :D

Prices for a mk2???

I think it may be easier to get someone like HiQ or Kwik Fit to give a national club discount or a mobile tyre fitting company, I will have a chat with Ali as he is club discount man and see what he thinks.

Tyres are not really like a GB for exhasts or car covers but something we all need regular some people more regular then others

Club members are allready intitled to discounts from the following

[email protected] 3% off (not great but a start)
www.blackcircles.com 5% off (getting better)

Im not sure however if you would have to go to there places to get them fitted hence maybe cheaper and easier to play your local tyre fitters off against each other.

Do you have any ideas

Don't know if this applies to Renault dealers but I was surprised that when I came to get new tyres on my MINI Clubman S I rang all the usual suspects Camskill etc and did the Blackcircles internet thing and when I had the best price the MINI dealer beat the price by 10% which was a saving of over £50 per tyre! There's a big OEM margin in tyres and if they know you're going elsewhere and are keen to get you back in for possible servicing/sales they do seem able to negotiate.

It's a reference to my site name! I've had the email astonandy since 1995 when I ran Aston Martin in the USA and have always used it on car sites. Thought it would make a good avatar while I wait to take some better shots.
