Hello guys! I'm new to this haha but I have an issue I'm in New Zealand haha so quite a way away for a start but my throttle cable snapped last night on way home low and behold I can't get hold of one here is there anything I can do ie get one off of a scenic or Clio that will work for now? And do any of you have a cable that I can buy through PayPal and are willing to send? Thank you in advance !
Lewis :)

@quadrastu is in QLD, AUS and may be able to source something...

I dont have a phase 1 one spare, @Lewis you got anything?

Where did it snap? Assume its the Phase 1 in your profile pic (phase 1 and 2/3 are different)
Its actually split inside the insulated piece maybe half way. I've asked a few people if they can make new ones for me they have come back with prices all over the place one place was $100nzd I will try them. Just sickening just spent $500 on an alternator job etc haha it's killing me. But hey it's an old car and I have to admit every time I go out heads turn and people look and stare when turbo kicks in! Just a sickner. I tried using a Renault Meganne cable but it's far too long and the bit on the end that goes to the actual throttle body hasn't the end I need obviously but worth a shot. Cars been standing for over 7 years in a barn so these things will happen I guess eh?

yes it's the phase 1 in my profile picture I've added a few photos for you before the cable snapped. But just for you guys to see my car haha super proud! I've done all the rust and new windscreen. It's crazy a windscreen and alternator was easier to find apposed to a throttle cable.

Haha it's awesome isn't it? It still works too but don't know how to use it. It's all original. Every kilometre is accounted for and even the stock Renault radio works BUT I don't know how to do the stereo code it's really hard I don't know if my buttons work or not.
@Red21 might be able to hep there. Good to see an original one!

If you still have the ends from the old cable, you could probably make something up from a bit of cable of the right diameter. There should be enough bare cable length either end to sneak some joins in,IIRC you could thread bare cable through the linkage end and put a chocolate block on it to see you through, and join the pedal fitting at the top of the pedal. If not, again @Red21 would be a good person to find an OE one from Renault and i'm sure we can ship it out to you no problem.
@SAC21Turbo do you still have that breaking phase 1 and is the throttle cable still there?

Well what I have is literally my cable split in half, I have gone and got a 1998 Renault meganne throttle cable it's around twice the length. The only problem was what do I use to join the block to that cable? Do I solder it? It won't hold will it? Won't it break? I've looked into to getting it rebuilt or remade one more place to see what it's going to cost tomorrow. It's so sad she's just sitting there sad and not used haha! Will keep you posted! Thank you so much for your help it's so nice to have a place where people want to help out! Not many forums like this anymore! I thank you again!

I'll have a check on Wednesday when I get back for P&A on a phase 1 cable, as for the radio can you pm me some clear pictures of the paper label on the casing & of the front panel plus chassis number as it an old vehicle so will need to dig for the code & reset buttons.
