Thermostat replacement

The onset of winter and is crap weather has seen my car running too cold, to the point its now not getting out of "cold" engine mode and the resulting fuel economy is horrific! It was OK through the summer so i've drawn the conclusion the best place to start is the thermostat (P/N 9617028380).

Anyone replaced one? Any tips? I should be able to access it through the normal engine cover without taking the 4,328 screws and fittings out to remove the main trim bits. Probably.

Looks like 4 retaining bolts (yellow) and is the red marked one the bleed screw?

Thanks in advance :)

So there is actually 2 seals then, one on the stat itself which I have, and a second one which I bet is my problem! The hunt is on to get one for the weekend!

Well this is pants. 9616838180 no longer available.

Sooooooooooo... that sucks. Can't find a cross ref non-genuine part number either.
