what was the score with this day then chris?? Was it a drift day or a track day or sumit?

Think it was just an open track / drift day.
Think it was about £125 for the day either track or drift

Great shots there Chris :approve:

Good to see everyone again on Saturday :D

Sorry we couldn't stop longer, would have liked too but due to prior engagements we couldn't.

Top marks go to Martin for taking the vee out, very brave man!!! [smilie=bowdown.gif]

See you all next time.

Yes £125 for the day. A friend from work also took his Nissan 200 :-)

I broke the Toyota steering by about 10:30 so drove it home and brought the Vee back ...

The Toyota was amazing in the dry but pants in the wet. I was a CF and got instructors to sit in with me for quite a few laps. The Yota understeers badly in the wet with it being 4wd so you have to get the back end out with a scandinavia flick or the handbrake. In the dry it was a different story, full power power slides and it was a shame it broke ... He said the Yota was the car with the most grip he had experienced on the drift track, in the dry you really have to leather it to get it sliding but it is so progressive it is unreal :-)

The Vee as completely mad !!! The slightest touch on the throttle in the wet in first gear would induce severe oversteer. Sometimes so quickly it would spin on it's access. In fact spins are quite fun on the drift track cause they occur literally on the spot and maybe with the odd slide. I would need more time to master it but after I broke the Yota my heart wasn't quite in it and I was nervous taking the Vee out. I did manage some drifts though and it does do it and is a bag of fun ...

The highlight though was letting Derek the instructor take the Vee for a spin - he was itching to have a go and called it 'a proper drifting car' which I laughed at but .... He did one lap and the things was sideways all the time it was amazing to be in and it felts so safe under his control. He did spin it on the hairpin but am sure he would not have done on a second lap. I can see what the Vee can do ... I didn come off a few times on a couple of bends but actually even with the Vee as low as it is there was no damage at all.

I would heartily recommend doing this in the Vee or any other car. The instructors are helpful and friendly and for £125 all day it is money well spent in terms of fun and vehicle handling and I even got to use two cars :-)

Hope you spent all day sunday cleaning the onion?! Hows the yota anyway, you managed to look at it yet?
