the Ultimate Retro Renault meet/event

That's the one! Couldn't remember the name, but we have to go over it if it's on route! Need to do it with the clouds though :?

this'll take some planning! I am up for it. £520 will cover it then? Would it be a week or longer? So many questions!

well, this is what this thread is for, how long do people want to go for? how much do people want to spend? where should we stay?

personally, i'd love it if everyone had an input so we could build it into a trip that everyone has had a say in, not what i, or anyone else organise

personally, i was hoping for a £600 budget, and maybe a 5 day trip, but thats just my input :D

looks like a 2 day drive each way [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millau_Viaduct]Millau Viaduct - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] ....so 4 tanks of fuel, 4 nights accomodation, food and drink... £240, £160, £100... and extended breakdown cover, insurance and spending money, around £600 sounds about right.

i was looking at that earlier (the SS meet), good times! Shame i missed the Midlands meet it has been amazing weather. the 2012 trip will be my 1st drive overseas!

Fuel costs at the end of the day all come down to how heavy footed we are when we drive? over a long drive like this i wouldn't want to be bombing it the whole way, could save quite a bit of money! my twingo economy varies, i've done anything from 120miles to a tank to 360 miles (driving like a saint)

what size is the tank? My cabby does about 450 mile on a tankful if diven economically. Would you take the Twingo on this trip Prab?

think £600 sounds right to me i think i can do that, better start saving then oh yeah i'm up for a 5 day trip thats good enough for me...

How comes im only looking at 400 miles to a tank??? neo do you have any input on this???

Dont look at me lol my 19 16v would do less than that to a tank! 300 miles if i was lucky but I do have a heavy right foot.

As for this trip, last time I did it i took a diesel astra which I filled up 3 times and it does 450 miles to a tank.

Then you have to consider tolls for the autoroutes which soon add up, if you take the A roads and avoid the autoroutes you really wont save that much because of the extra fuel you use.

I did about £250 in diesel and toll charges on a return trip to the south of france in the Astra.

Now with the Evo i would be spending about £600 just in fuel lol
