Two words:

BEDFORD AUTODROME

Forget the razzmatazz of 'Silverstone' and the 'GP circuit', come and have a few hours at the Autodrome [smilie=bowdown.gif]

OMG I am surprised this ever even got suggested with our fastidious members!! Great to read old threads I have never seen.

Haha. Was thinking exactly the same thing when I read the title. Then I saw it was cancelled due to lack of interest and it began to make more sense!!

why exactly? maybe more of us wanted to track our cars instead of shine them in those days.

Great track cars and I am surprised more don't want to give it a go. As always I think it could do with another 45hp to make it spot on and a little more camber but that's it. If a day does happen I will be there for the fun. Bedford would be good though for its safe run offs just in case :-)

Times change mentalities change owners change. Reading the old posts was fascinating. I only joined the forum Sept 09 never new it existed so missed a lot of the forum history. My first meet was April 2010. Majority of the owners I have met in the last two years will never track their vees which I can understand being the rare and precious cars vees are, plus insurance issues, wear and tear on their vehicles etc. So I am conditioned into thinking no one would be interested in track days (Montlhery last two years as an example). A pleasant surprise to see this thread as someone who likes track days. No insult intended towards racers or shiners and those that are both.

I think that was Nas's point Mark. He loves tracking his car but it seems he's in the minority. The majority seem to shy away from trackdays in recent times. Including me I might add!!

Reading the earlier thread I was really surprised nobody wanted to at least experience their car on a track, I think I will try mine at least once even if it's just an evening event with MSV at Brands for a few hours.

Maybe if a more watered down event was planned, similar to Goodwood track days where a lot of cars turn up just to shine and watch the ones that do want to track it, and of course at a time of year when there is a fair chance of a warm sunny day.

Even though I would track mine, don't think I would of risked paying £300 for early April

I tracked RUK's v6's around Brands, Oulton Park and Bedford, so I don't feel that urge to take my own car on the circuit. I'd be more than happy to take someone else's vee out for them though.... It was great fun! :)

Clever man!! No wonder you dont have that urge when you have ragged the nuts of RUKs vee!! All makes sense now. TBH as one of four rare Lunars I wouldnt wanna take it on track anyway!!

Ha.... Well I didn't imagine ever being able to own one myself one day, so made the most of the RUK Illiads that were on offer at the time. ;)
Then jumped back behind the wheel of my, then 182 lol. I also learnt how one shouldn't put tyre shine on prior to taking it on track. :D

 Scenic route here I come!!

I am glad you have experienced the vee at its limits cos its something I think every owner should experience just to see what the vee is capable of doing.... obviously not in their own vees! It also probably explains why you are the lead driver and a bloody good one at that on our local meets you know what the vee can and cant do!
