The first official v6clio.net track day - Cancelled!

hi peep, yes still interested, but also need to know the full expected price, also still have the problem with the V - all over the place at speed- took it for a four wheel alignment as some said on here, but apparently you can not adjust them because they are fixed in other words there is no adjustments to adjust apart from tow which they did and with putting 30 in the rear tryes and 25 in the front the v is good for 120mph before it goes all over the place, but what they did say from the read out is that they think the near of side leg is to blame, so will deffently have to have this done before attempting 150mph and hope it is covered under the warrantee i got with the v. Can we not take a passenger within the price, for them to atleast watch, walk round the cars etc even if lucky be taken round the track at least once ??. also the venue is around about 350/400 miles round trip for me living at Hastings East Sussex, Please tell me that i will at least have enough tread on the tyres to at least get home, they are nearly new at mo.

All - this hasn't been forgotten about! I'm trying to bring together all the bits of information before posting a definitive package price.

Just one question that would be handy to know; of those of you planning to attend how many would want to have an additional driver?

The instructor is a chap called Karl Goshawk who has instructed at many events for us, has a background in racing and spends a lot of time instructing for Silverstone themselves. He'd spend the entire day with us and would basically be at our disposal.

When I get the information I'm waiting for I'll post up the details.

Just me and a non-driving passenger / camera man. :winky: I've just bought a high definition bullet cam setup! Should be great for snowboarding and track days! SWEET! 8)

I've been forced to take this week off work having "cricked" my neck playing football on Sunday [smilie=icon_aaargh.gif] . Means I've unexpectedly used up my annual leave and will sadly not now be able to attend this meet . I've got a day lined up at Pembrey later in the summer but the driving experience won't compare with Silverstone.[smilie=doubt.gif]
Sorry to let you down - I'm really disappointed. :(

Forgot to add that LOUDMAN was in a position to loan me suitable equipment for videoing. I'm guessing he'd be willing for another member to take up the offer...

If people do want video equipment I can arrange to have our Chasecam stuff along with us - solid state recorder, polariser fitted bullet cams and track day ok mount(s).

Ok so the price has finally been confirmed.

What you get
A track day at the internationally famous Silverstone circuit.
Our own garage(s)

Price is £300 for a minimum of 4.

It's the "full fat" Silverstone GP circuit. It's a Goldtrack noisy day which has a printed limit of 105db but in reality pretty much anything goes in terms of noise.

May also be worth mentioning that Goldtrack days are very friendly and attract a wide range of customers with some interesting bits of kit - for example last year at one of our events which was on a Goldtrack noisy day there was an Enzo to the left, a couple of Challenge 430s to the right, some shillouette Peugeot race cars, a Zonda and that was just the stuff going out on track the paddock had some other interesting bits..

sorry for all the questions...
as it falls in the school holidays...is there an age limit as my 13 year old son may want to come with me, I dont mean in any of the cars, just hanging about the pits really. He is very pit lane aware having been brought up in Nascar and WSR pits it would seem :approve:
also, how can we pay, Credit card?

Don't worry about the questions - we're here to help :-)

Generally speaking there's no problem with younger children and teenagers in the paddock area - you may get some issues with them in the pitlane side of the pits or on the pit wall - it tends to be one of those things that his handled by different TDOs in different ways.

Credit cards can be taken - that's not a problem.

To all others considering this day - we're going to need firm commitments as soon as possible because availability for the day is starting to run out and I need to confirm with the "tame" instructor.

Max

If any one who is considering coming to the day is interested in tyres, pads or brake fluid feel free to PM me - because we'll have the support truck I can sort out delivery and fitting of parts on the day. May be worth bearing in mind.

OK going to commit to this!
just undecided about the car, really need track time in the spider but the full Silverstone circuit might suit the vee better, what do you think? worried about being a slow coach on top speed on the straights....

The Spider is the road version if I remember correctly?

Can you bring both cars? I may be able to sweet talk the TDO into letting you swap the numbers over half way through the day.

If not I'd be inclined to take the V because if the numbers work out you get the benefit of "shared experience" with the other participants. Also worth bearing in mind that if it does rain (April showers!) then I know which I'd rather be in even if it did mean I had to drive in a more reserved style!

Don't be concerned about the speed on the straights - there's always someone quicker and there's always someone slower.

I would love to do this, but having just (today) come back from two weeks leave, I doubt I will be able to get another day off so soon (and I'm now running low on holiday) - damn shame as Silverstone is a fine circuit to drive (although I have seen more than one car wrecked on a track day there, so make sure you have proper track day insurance!)

Chris

The day is cancelled due to lack of confirmed numbers and resultant inability to get booking in on time.

V dissapointing. :(
