I'm not sure how I feel about the C1J being dumped, but it's better than the car being scrapped :)

The inlet looks awfully high...respectfully suggest dropping the bonnet in place to make sure it clears...I suspect the inner skin will foul...
 
Engine is slightly jacked up mate, when we get the custom mount made it will sit lower :)

Actually got to spend some time with the Dood this weekend.

When i arrived at the lockup Ash was bored whilst waiting for his mate to let him know about doing the belts so I bought him some paints...

I ripped the broken front seats out

Today while the cambelt and dephaser was being done to kill some time i painted the bay

Four nice coats of gloss black from two tins

What you cant see is that i painted in all the nooks and crannies and even under the subframe and other components. I also undercoated the subframe.

Et voila we dropped the engine in for the final time.

Next job wire up and plumb everything in. A few bits are currently on order but we are hopeful to have it all done by mid april at the latest!

Good stuff, looking nice. Don't drop the bonnet too hard the first time you close it because it's going to whack that lovely pretty manifold :)
 
Remember to allow for engine shift under load.

I didn't.

I now have a reverse dint in my bonnet where the TXi plenum headbutts the bonnet skin when it jumps about.
 
Not much to report, engine has been plumbed in. 172 loom is in but needs to be spliced to the 11 loom, need an alternator brAcket and exhaust welding up
