The 1957 Dope Dauphine

Forge Motorsport were having a brunch club meeting so got the dope out for a run, was really nice to potter around in it in such nice weather. The indicators have stopped working for some reason so I shall look into that, not that any one can see them or take much notice of them anyway. Thanks for looking

Indicators were an easy fix, id left the earth off when I wired in the variable speed wipers.....

I've decided I want to try and learn some basic photographic and editing skills, I do seem to lack the artistic view/eye though but maybe that will come with practice. Anyway something else to take up more of my time.

For a while when driving in the Dope I've wanted/needed tunes. To solve this I usually pick up the household Bluetooth boom box/speaker thing and connect it to my phone.

I was bored today so decided to have a crack at making a head unit. Using a very old tape player I found in the mother in laws garage and combining it with a cheap Bluetooth speaker I got free with a pack of desperados about 5 years ago. I'm not overly sure how I really got it working but it kind of does :D Basically I stripped both down, put the Bluetooth unit speaker output to the tape input, removed the motor and used the power to drive that to power a usb charger which then charges the Bluetooth speakers battery. The Bluetooth unit itself stays on but charging and speaker output happens when the tape is pushed into the play position, or it will work with ignition on once I fit it. Volume can be controlled from both the phone and the dial on the head unit. I only had an old speaker (also from the mother in laws garage) to test with but it really pushed out some volume, quality isn't amazing but it will be enough to take the edge off the cabin and engine noise I have. I need to make myself a speaker unit to hide under the dash next, that can wait till another day. Thanks for looking (y)
