Sump Pan Studs

Guest

Do you need to remove the sump pan studs to remove the pan?!

I have got to the stage of trying to get the sump out!

But it wont budge, ive loosened the subframe but it loose but no real movement!

Thanks in advance!

Dan

have you removed the ones under the gearbox bolts at the bottom? you usually have to remove the gearbox, or atleast seperate it to get the sump off.

You mean the studs on the gearbox that go through to the sump? yeh you do those unfortunatley!

Dave

as dan says, undo the studs to the gearbox and theres more bolts to the block under there, recessed into the sump.

Yeah i do mean those ones mate .. weve managed to get 2 out of the 5 i think out!

Might be quicker to unbolt the box and move either engine or gearbox over a bit to get clearance, not a nice job unfort!

i used another nut and locked them together, then used an open end spanner to remove using the rear nut, worked for me
