started making a whining noise??

started it up yesterday after washing her, noticed straight away a noise that i've never heard before sounds like a whining noise that increases with the revs and also at idle, was thinking that maybe it could be the alternator or summat like that just wondering if anyones had the same thing an if so what is was?

Idler/tensioner?

Is the fan belt rubbing on anything? Check the fuel lines aren't rubbing on it.
