21 Turbo Speedo cable (R21 Turbo)

Hi All,

My speedo cable failed :negative.gif:

I have extracted the old one and sent it off to be remanufactured but the gearbox end is all mangled. I can't get a new one from Renault (have tried). Can anyone take a photo of the gearbox end (and post it here) and measure the protrusion of the square bit please?

I'm just hoping the gearbox drive is ok. Very nervous about it. Boroscope at the ready!

Thanks!

Andrew

Negative! Think I will hold on to that little puppy. Happy to get some measurements for you though. Out of interest, where did you send it for re manufacturing? I'm guessing the electronic pickup was working fine in yours.

Right - the remanufactured speedo cable has arrived. However, they have put a new connector on the speedo end, which appears not to have the cutout for the speed sensor. Argh.

@DaveL485 do you still have a spare cable? I think I'd prefer to use a Renault original and keep the remanufactured one for an emergency or as an "all else fails" thing. I just don't think the speed sensor is going to work with what I've got now, which means my fuel computer will be useless!

I might try seeing if I can take a spare speedo apart and make my own speed sensor as an alternative ;-)
