Spare wheel

Hello all
I’m going on quite a long trip with the Vee next month and don’t trust the pump thingy that comes with the car.
Is there a spare / space saver from another Clio that would fit?

Would need to be a 5 stud so more likely a Megane or Laguna would be best source, main problem will be clearing the discs and callipers. You will be hard pushed to get the right rolling diameter. Do you have a friendly scrap yard who will let you try a selection locally?

The goo-in-a-can is actually pretty good for sealing nail puncture. Of course it is not useful if the tyre sidewall is torn but that’s quite unlikely.

I had to use the can-of-goo for a track day. Spotted a nail in one tyre in the morning before the sessions started. Put two cans of goo in as I had no other choice. Drove 200km around the track then 160km back home. This was on my Clio 3 200.

Another alternative is putting run flat tyres. I have them on my car. The ride quality is bone-breaking bad on country roads here in Australia.

Where would you put it? presume you will have luggage for a long trip?
I’m traveling alone so it would go in the passenger foot well. I’m only considering because my bmw has run flats which have cracked three of the wheels one needs replacing. So I don’t fancy and long ish trips without a spare

Speak to Essex Banded Steels. They will make exactly what you need from an existing 5x108 steel wheel. You will want to rely on a rear offset. Providing the wheel is only 5-6j you’ll still beable fit it to the front. The other option is to make your own from a split rim. Two narrow outer barrels and a centre with the correct pcd is all you’ll need.
