So much attention

Even after 9 years of ownership it still surprises me how much attention our cars get 8)

Yesterday while driving through Harrogate town centre a bloke on a bike shouts over "Blimey it's not for sale is it mate" ? Literally 3 minutes later I get the thumbs up from someone driving in the opposite direction :approve:

I suppose it's all too easy to forget that most folk have probably never seen a Vee before [smilie=yay.gif]

On a sunny day last week I drove mine for the first time in about 6 months, 10 mins after setting off a white transit van was behaving oddly in front of me, he kept slowing down for no reason and then eventually stopped his van blocking the lane, as I overtook it became apparent that he simply wanted to see and hear the vee driving past him, he was yelling compliments and giving the thumbs up, as soon as I passed he carried on as normal.

Phill, I wonder if the less popular coloured vees attract such attention?

I always find that mine seems to go mainly un noticed! Maybe the locals of Carlisle are just morbid and don't care :(

But they stare at the new model tractors

Sorry, Southern Shandy drinkers humour.

My Liquid Yellow car gets attention just about every time I go out in it, and it's rare that I don't get flashed / waved or have a photo taken. The Mars car hasn't had the same reaction on the move, but gets exactly the same attention when parked up. I guess that other Clio nutters can see the yellow car coming a mile off, whereas the red car blends in a bit more.

I took the Mars car to Race-Retro at the end of Feb, and got an exhibitors pass from a mate who was running his rally car, so parked next to the shed housing all the rally cars, rather than in the main car park. Every time I passed the car, it had more people pouring over it than the exhibits!

When we left just after lunchtime, we had to drive slowly through a crowd walking towards us. Slowly because of the large humps in the road and the large number of people. My passenger is an old mate who has spent many years competing in national rallies, so he's used to attention. But he was gobsmacked when the crowd stopped, parted to clear the way, stared, pointed and took photos at we drove through. This was a bunch of blokes (mainly) who had just spend hours looking at some of the best race and rally cars in the country, and they seemed to be genuinely excited when the Vee went past.

I'll bet that most of them hadn't seen one before, let alone heard one!

Mines been in full view on my drive for 4 months - being easter weekend I presume we have few family members down for weekend round my area - I've had 2 cars stop at the end of my drive taking photos of my vee 8) it is a nice feeling knowing that it is an appriciated car - who would stop to take a picture of your car !! Non vee that is ! Oh hang on here is another taking pictures !! I suppose a lot of owners have them safely tucked up in a garage or storage. But mine is on full show :( me mum and dad made me turn our garage into a bleeding "music room" I want it for a V6 room !!

I just couldn't look at it sitting there in rain, hail, wind, snow... It would kill me [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

In the recent winds I was very worried! It's more wheelie bins and recycle bins I worry about ! When they empty they are light ! But I am in a safe ish area and it now has been valeted and has a good coat on it [smilie=yay.gif]

Just taken mine out to warm it up and yes was superb also got some flashes of headlights and some thumbs up :race: it does make me feel as though I have something special [smilie=yay.gif] I am sort of used to knowing it's my car but lovely to know others appreciate it [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]
